China's tire supply chain bets nearly 40 billion yuan on Egypt in full-chain overseas push​


China's tire industry is staging an upgraded version of cluster-style overseas expansion in Egypt. Since the start of 2026, at least six Chinese tire and supply-chain companies have announced increased commitments to Egypt, with combined planned investment approaching 40 billion yuan (approximately $6.0 billion). The concentration of destinations and the scale of individual projects are unprecedented in the history of Chinese tire manufacturing going abroad.

This marks the second-largest overseas cluster for China's tire industry after Southeast Asia. But unlike the path taken a decade ago into Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia, the core logic of this investment wave is no longer simply about finding cheaper factories. Instead, against a backdrop of rising global trade barriers, it is about building a multi-polar production network and a supply-chain system positioned closer to end markets.
 
Sisi announces the elevation of bilateral relations with South Korea to the level of strategic partnership, affirming that the step opens new horizons for comprehensive cooperation and supports international stability and security.

 
The most important statement by the Korean President, in which he said literally: "Egypt will be South Korea's gateway to Africa, the Gulf, and Europe through an industrial complex to localize the Korean technological industry on Egyptian lands."
