Manufacturing the vessel took more than 41 months, and it will arrive in Egypt in November amid official and popular celebrations, as it is considered a symbol of the beginning of Egypt's entry into the nuclear energy era. The Minister confirmed that the project receives direct follow-up from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and it forms a main pillar for achieving energy security and sustainable development. The El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant is Egypt's first station for generating electricity using nuclear energy, consisting of 4 Russian VVER-1200 reactors of the latest generation, with each unit having a capacity of 1200 megawatts.. in short: Egypt is entering the big leagues with clean and safe energy. The petroleum sector participates in the manufacture of nuclear facilities in the Dabaa project ​

In a new achievement credited to the Egyptian petroleum sector, Petrojet, one of the petroleum sector companies, began manufacturing the fourth level of the internal containment vessel for the third and fourth nuclear reactors at the Dabaa nuclear plant, through the company's static equipment manufacturing workshops in Edco.



With this achievement, and according to what the company published on its official page, Petrojet becomes the first Arab and African company to begin manufacturing parts for the nuclear reactor body, in cooperation with international partners and under the supervision of experts specialized in the field of manufacturing with Russian specifications. The equipment manufacturing workshops in Edko have obtained a license from the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA) to manufacture equipment up to the second nuclear safety range, Safety Class 2 This allowed Petrojet to begin manufacturing work according to strict controls that guarantee the highest levels of quality and safety in accordance with Russian codes and approved international specifications for manufacturing nuclear power plant equipment.



This achievement enhances the pioneering role of the Egyptian petroleum sector as a major strategic partner in implementing giant national projects, most notably the Dabaa nuclear power plant project.

Nuclear stations: 25% local component percentage in Dabaa inauguration, reaching 35% by the end of the project.

Dr. Sherif Helmy, Chairman of the Nuclear Power Plants Authority, confirmed that Egypt is keen to increase the local component of the Dabaa nuclear power generation project increasingly as the project stages develop until its completion by an increasing rate of 5% with each of the four project stages.

Helmy explained, during the session "From Industrialization to Effective Development of Industrialization Sites and Zones" within the activities of the second day of the World Atomic Energy Week WAW Forum in the Russian capital, Moscow, that the percentage of the local component in the first and second units at the Dabaa station is 25% and increases in the third unit to 30% and reaches 35% in the fourth unit upon completion of the project.

Helmy said that relying on the local component of the Egyptian nuclear project increases the chances of advancing Egyptian industrial development in this field and increases competitiveness, pointing out that Egypt is fully prepared to transfer its expertise in this field to neighboring brothers.

Dr. Mahmoud Esmat said that the Egyptian program for the peaceful uses of nuclear energy is comprehensive and integrated in a way that achieves the state's goals and serves the national economy within the framework of the sustainable development plan, and in a manner that is consistent with the increasing energy needs in Egypt, and programs and projects to assist in the field of optimal use of reactors while developing appropriate human resources to design, operate and use reactors and associated facilities Explaining Egypt's participation in a number of these initiatives, under which the installation of a 3D LINAC linear medical accelerator is currently being completed, which is used to provide precise radiotherapy to cancer patients, indicating that a number of plant mutations have been achieved using radiation technology that will contribute to the production of crops with a greater production capacity and more tolerance to difficult climatic conditions, and other manufacturing and exploratory programs in the fields of health, industry, elements and land resources.

Dr. Mahmoud Esmat will present the developments of the peaceful Egyptian nuclear project to generate electricity through the Dabaa station as an important step towards achieving sustainable development and localizing modern technology.
