India cannot withhold payments for existing contracts it has signed unless it wants to cancel those contracts. The French can turn around and say that India is in breach of the terms of the contract and suspend the delivery of spare parts and all support and maintenance activities.

I don't see France giving up the source code as they are very protective of their intellectual property. Right now, India is better off pausing any further purchases of the Rafale and focussing on getting the Su30MKI Super programme complete with a full Indian ecosystem and then starting working on an integrated Indian air defence network where everything works together more seamlessly.

The source code of the Rafale is not the problem as India has that capability for the Su30MKI fleet, and we can see that jet did not fair any better. You have to assume that jet is fully integrated into the Indian IADS to its full capabilities as of now.

The issue of the source code is probably more about getting information and software that will feed into the AMCA programme and trying to boot strap that programme with capabilities that they cannot develop on their own, or will take too long to develop.

100% sure Liar Modi aware that he’ll not be given the source code when he purchased the Rafale jets and 100% . I totally agree with you, Ali_Baba , that modi airforce could not perform any better even if given the source code. No manufacture shares the source code even US does not gave out source code. Rafale is doomed if they share the Rafale source code with india. One very good reason is why France hesitant to release the source code for the Rafale is because they are right to be concerned about Russian access to that.

France had better cut losses india is a problematic customer now. Indians better not under estimate the French. If there are no balance payment from india over source code rumours from india guess what? France would definitely stop sending spare parts for jets servicing.

It will not do that unless circumstances are extreme, French have a reputation as a reliable supplier so will not jepordise that if some jeets start crying

Many Frances customers are fools should have learn from history, France betrayed Argentina 🇦🇷 by giving British Gov the code to neutralise Exocet I read up on I'm not sure 🤔

Many claim France was also secretly helping Argentina by sending Exocet via Peru.

My point is generally they will be keen to maintain their reputation
