Ex-Singapore Diplomat analysis on Pakistan with Pakistani journalists

For those who are interested, here is the full video of the media interaction. He has spoken very bluntly about countries other than Pakistan as well. A very insightful and refreshingly plainspoken diplomat.

As expected, faujeets, patwaris and jiyalas will make ad hominem attacks on his Indian heritage , even though he has Chinese roots as well, because they have no substantive answer to the inconvenient facts he is pointing out.

Going by this his country India too is feudal society.
No. We had land reforms and has land ceilings, you can't own thousands of hectares of land your lands will be taken away by the government and redistributed. Zamindari system was banned, and tillers got the ownership.

Also he is a Singaporean, I don't know why people call him Indian he is also Chinese which is basically a Singaporean.

bro.. watch this

Feudalism is not just owing the land. It is essentially owning or controlling resources (humans too) by manipulation (of law or surroundings).
The old feudal elite has turned into businessmen, factory owners, politicians, bureaucrats, etc.
The problem is they carry the feudalistic thought process wherever they go. They pity the poor and worship power.
Just look at how Mushi dealt with the public (A dehli born middle class person, Karachi resident) vs Bajwa and Asim (from a Punjab feudalistic culture).

Irrelevant to our situation , the civilizations that have never risen how can they fall.....in this thread both sides are shooting in the dark , regurgitating trite cliché as some original thought provoking ideas ...harping for reforms without exactly knowing how to reform what's needed to be reformed.... everyone is looking for a clean slate to draw a sketch of his own liking without giving any consideration to constraints that are inherent in our history , society and culture..
Anyway , keep on discussing..maybe some day we will come up with viable and practical ideas .

No point in explaining, they think we have some kind of Heen bhavna for these guys 🤣
Cuz we are sub humans and we are actually jealous of the people of the west they are gora chitta angrej looking people that are the rightful heirs of indus valley civilisation and vedic ones , dwellers of ganga are pissed that they converted (and have moved on) !and we are still worshipping the demonic 👿 looking false gods 🤔

I got that from a post in this same thread

What possibly are the people getting(or not getting) which they will change by keeping(or not keeping) Pakistan?

If you cannot answer that OR provide enough evidence to people that Pakistan has actual worth today... then you take your cries of mismanagement, establishment, feudal, elite and so on... and keep typing and discussing them to satisfy that impact of change.

It's a chicken and egg problem, no?

There is no collective sense of responsibility or civic duty at all in the country. Nobody thinks twice before throwin all his trash on the road even in Islamabad or tearing down the walkway. Just yesterday I got into an argument with a Pakistani Uber driver who said goray sab jahil hain because I have to take a u-turn and they won't jaywalk for the dropoff and then started ranting.

So, until you bring that sense of responsibility and look at yourself as an individual contributor to the country, the country quite frankly won't be able to give you anything back. A country is what you make of it, not an entity that just exists for eternity.

Irrelevant city state with no culture. Papuans and Guineans should overrun this modern day Gommorah.

Irrelevant?

So why are Indians running at the miniscule opportunity to work here?

Go to Papua New Guinea, or better still, back to their Desh Ki Darti to work there. Stop polluting my nation with your nasty culture and you can keep your rupees to yourself.

Oh and by the way, my country, which is slightly twice the size of Gaza, has a much bigger pool of Total National Financial Reserves than India. So, forget about flexing your financial power. Doesn't interest us.

Note: Singaporean Indians consisting mostly of Tamils are nice though. They have my respect.

Exactly. And Pakistan is exactly how we have made it. :D

What I have come to believe over time is that every country has a great deal of garbage in it. No offence to anyone. But a critical mass of capable and competent people keep the country progressing. In our country, we have not reached that critical mass in positions of power. The reasons are manyfold, immigration, political persecution, corruption, nepotism etc etc.

It's a long road, but we need to start building towards that nucleus and then take it from there.

Just a couple days back, the roof of a tuition center fell and children were killed in Lahore I think, in another incident some were injured. The solution by the government was to ban all private academies.

At it's core, the problem is the state's abject failure to educate it's citizens, and when the private sector comes up you outright ban it instead of looking for a solution and filling the gap you have created.

By design.

Not the first time, nor will it be the last. After a few palms are greased, it will be business back to "normal".

Such cliched phrases sound nice, but always remain well short of actual action.

By design.

Insignificant piece of stolen land. The people who live there are basically hostages. Toxic exploitative culture. Best to ignore and avoid.

really!
So, the rise of civilisation and our situation may not have 100% correlation, but is it still not relevant?
Take the example of Habib or Sehgal group. They were not organised (anarchy), then there came one family member who had futuristic ideas (monarchy), and set up a business or industry at risk. With the kingpin gone, it may decline (Sehgal) as the next king is not as wise as before. Such as, NS is not now at the helm, so it is a mixture of next gen working together (autocracy), and so forth.

how local cooperation can spread. There must be a group within an organisation or circle that must be unbiased. If it works just on merit, that virtue can spread.
The cross-connection is bypassing merit or overstepping the authority or utay gal ho gai ha type thing. In doing so, insecurity grows and being good feels stupid and disadvantageous.

Madam is sleeping, cant be disturbed, 😂😂 seriously?.

Exactly. And Pakistan is exactly how we have made it. :D

So what is your advice to Pakistan then?

I mean what Pakistan should do to solve its problems then.....

In my perspective, first we need to be optimist, then gradual change can be achieved. Collective Change cannot happen if we become pessimist. Just like within personal context, successful person usually are those who are confident with their own capability to reach their life goal.

It is not whether it should be a democracy or not when the change should be done

China can still grow fast without democracy, but the collective goals of the people that direct them to that goal. Every one with brain understand that the system that base on merrit will create better output regardless it is democracy or not

So just ignore that Singaporean diplomat that say he doesnt have the solution for Pakistan problem.

Pakistan is mismanaged but I rather not take advice of Indian origin Singaporean. Indian is a Indian after all no matter how much removed from it. Their hatred of Pakistan will remain till nuclear fallout hit them. If tomorrow Indians take over Singapore then that will also become legitimate target for Pakistan in all out war.

ok take the advice of a former patawari who saw the light
