There is YF- prototype/tech demonstrator and F- production variant.

YF-22 started flying in 1990. F-22 took its first flight in 1997.

X-35 tech demonstrator flew in 2000. While F-35 first prototype flew in 2006.

NGAD prototype flew in 2020. And production representative F-47 will fly 2028. Nothing radical here.

These were clearly full scale prototypes with both aircraft flying hundreds of hours each. In comparison the YF-22 prototype flew 91 hours and YF-23 65 hours.

What flys in 2028 will be F-47 production representative. The US is past the prototyping stage.

It's like a country that aimed to build the world's most advanced fighter jet in the 1980s, and finally, in the 2020s, this world-leading fighter jet is about to be put into service. Believe what you want and don't crap out here and you're still newbie at the designing of Fighter jet from scratch, you still behind the in term of aeroengine development fields your VCE (variable cycle engine) for your J-36/J-50 is still not ready, whereas US VCE is ready for testing in prototypes

And when USA developing and testing 5th gen jets in 80s and 90s (ATF/JSF projects) you're copying Soviet 3rd gen MIG-21/Su-15 as J-7/J-8 respectively, you're reporting for your nonsense and trolling

How the tables have turned. Back in 90s the US had F-16 and China had J-7 and China was playing catching up. Now it is the US playing catching up.
