FIFA World Cup 2026

AND its been held in 3 different countries. Mexico has historically had massive stadia.
The fact this WC has 48 nations importing their fans to the designated nations - naturally the attendance is going to go through the roof in todays global world.
Some will take unnecessary credit for this
Somewhere earlier in this thread I'd already posted average per game attendance is only 22 more than when the US last hosted in 1994. And that was using the numbers provided by Raptor. Hardly a big whoop or reason to prematurely orgasm in my opinion.

With an increase of 16 additional teams, a very bogus reason to "rah rah".

I agree 48 is enough. I think it has been successful because US is huge with many cities with football stadiums, and even though Canada and Mexico also took small part, US could easily host 48 nations without stress or strain. Many big US cities with football stadiums were left out including my city of San Diego because of LA. They would have fallen in love with San Diego with its chillax weather and beaches not to mention San Diego being the US capitol of craft Breweries with 200 of them compared to the well known drinking city of Boston which has 30-40 breweries. Scotts/Tartan Army would have not drunk San Diego dry like they did to Boston.
You've been around Scots, right? They absolutely would have given it a try.

US may be interested in hosting a 2038 world cup that has even more teams than the current 48.

These larger and larger tournaments do mean hosting the World Cup will become beyond the capacity of many countries.

I also think Africa is where the next cup should be hosted, and I mean only in African countries. But the money is elsewhere :(

I'm fine if we go 30 years before another tournament is hosted in the US. Expanding the number of teams beyond 48 would be ludicrous IMO. At that point, teams that are mediocre on their best day would be in. And, would become the equivalent of the NHL playoffs.

To be frank, you hit it spot on. The money is not in Africa.

I have been following this world cup. Other than watching matches i have also been watching a lot of videos related to this world cup and aftrr watching those videos i can safely say that Bangladesh has a very serious unemployment issue that needs to be looked into
lmao
let poople enjoy sports man

Now a draw will not be enough
We don't know that yet. Three 3rd teams have been eliminated so far (South Korea, Scotland and Uruguay). We need one more 3rd team to be eliminated for us to advance to the next round.

1. If Austria defeats Algeria, then we'll go to the next round with a draw. (likely)
2. If Uzbekistan stops DR Congo, we'll go to the next round with a draw. (likely)
3. If Ghana defeats Croatia, we'll go to the next round with a draw. (not likely)

The results of Cabo Verde vs. Saudi Arabia & Spain vs. Uruguay have kept our hopes alive so far.

I would say we still have 60%-80% chance to advance with just a draw.

Egypt qualified officialy as 3rd place ...
I think we should give the match to iran to qualify with us
