Spanish managers strategy is spot on, because they are so good at holding the ball if the French didnt get an early goal their flair players were always going to get frustrated because of being starved service.

Now Spanish need to hold it tight for 20+ mins.

Looks like possession has won the day. Beautiful from Spain. Such purist football. I can't see how anyone can stop Spain from winning the title now. They are peaking at the perfect time and have only conceded ONE GOAL all tournament (so far)!

Spain started their campaign unable to get past 40-year-old goalkeeper Vozinha and drawing 0-0 with Cape Verde. They could well be ending the World Cup by holding the trophy.

Four minutes to go and they are in the final.

Shouldn’t have been such a suprise, but Spain have outplayed France. Rodri I believe makes a huge difference in the centre of the park. If England do get through tomorrow, they’ll need to subdue not only Lamal, but outwork and overcome Rodri’s dominance in the centre
