FIFA World Cup 2026

Can a Bangladeshi or anyone explain the background to the love fest?
I don’t buy that all of Argentines are racists that everyone is posting about. It seems genuine love for Bangladesh with players visiting there and thanking them for support.
Think there’s a concentrated effort to cliticize Argentina homogenous team vs if they are mixed or full of blacks

Of course they will thank them since they profit from them ( money talks) , they buy Argentina's shirt and supporting them , what you expect ? lol.
those Bengali who support the argentinians are dumb as ****

I suppose you would rather they buy Mo Saleh or team Egypt merchandize?

I asked for an impartial answer, not emotionally charged drivel. FWIW - I was rooting for Egypt but they imploded just like England. Playing defense was silly

A Bangladeshi I know said there was - apparently - some historic and even vocal sympathy from Argentina towards Bengali and/or Bangladeshi "liberation movements" but no specific details were offered on this. Maybe forum-goers know?

@LeonBlack08 sir, any thoughts on the specific affection Bangladeshis have for Argentina? Genuinely curious!

Great at football and cheating, but they suck ass in war.....Even though they had close land proximity and got destroyed.

Sad to see the national side lose, and over the years the fan base has become diverse and the wider base of white fans very accepting of minorities supporting them. I can recall loads of stories on social media of Pakistanis in England tops, flags etc being thanked, hugged, hand shakes, thumbs up for their support. After the game the feeling was the same.

People need to look twice and and visit other nations in Europe to see how Muslims are treated e.g. not allowed to build traditional mosques, not allowed halal meat, ban on Hijab and beards, mass discrimination at the education and then the job level. I'm giving examples seen in mainstream European states, not backwater Eastern European ones.

The UK has treated us well and the population has been warmly accepting. Had there been so many evil racists willing to kill us at the slightest opportunity why are so many Muslims falling over themselves to get her on boats, lorry etc?
But anyway, I'll leave the politics out of this now.

Brother, I have been saying this for some time. UK does not deserve half the shit thrown at it.

Football is still a way behind cricket in this regard.

You're right though. I presume a lot will change when a Pakistani origin player represents England. I believe Zesh Rahman may have at U19 level and then switched to Pakistan for senior level. It is a matter of time though and that's when you will likely see a shift.

For now though, the whole world and his gran wanted someone to stuff the argies, regardless of anything else. Hopefully Spain do the needful.

Irony is with these Zio c&&ts is they want the Falklands back so bad as it is part of their country, but happy with Israel occupying other countries....
Interestingly, Argentina's footballers have been quite polarised on the Israel-Palestinian issue. Perhaps it reflects the polarised politics of South America generally.

100% bro look at how we live. Go to the city of London and see Pakistani young men and women all over in suits working in finance, medicine, IT you name it. Now try the same in other European nation's capitals and see how many Muslims they employ in top jobs. I've been there, broke bread with politicians there and was shocked at how tiny or in some cases non-existent their presence is.

So true, mate, in Italy, even in "polite" society how they joke about Muslims and Blacks is insane. Within my work never seen an African, Arab or South Asian in any client company within Europe. In UK Asians and blacks around 10-15%
