The largest confiscation of Palestinian lands since the Oslo Accords.. #Netanyahu’s government agrees to seize about 13 square kilometers of land in the Jordan Valley

Here is another example of the "The Two State Solution" in practice!

Why can't Iran just be a normal country and let these Peaceful Israelis commit their Ethnic Cleansing and Genocide in peace???
they are not worried about the Arab states because they know they have been bought by the US on behalf of Israel. and they know Iranians, Yemenis, and Lebanese cannot be bought to abandon the Palestinians for any price...

The end result of the incremental annexation of the West Bank is an expanded Israel that controls 90% of the West Bank with the remaining 10% comprised of Palestinian 'bantustans' (e.g. Hebron, Nablus, Jenin, Ramallah, Tulkarm with a total population of only c. 1 million) surrounded by Jewish settlements annexed into Israel.

When this happens, the options will be:

(A) Pressure on Israel to end the apartheid and offer these remaining Palestinians Israeli citizenship (Jews will still be a minority as Gaza will still be a separate besieged enclave)
(B) Israel offers these remaining bantustans some form of autonomous power and they operate as secluded autonomous Palestinian enclaves with no connection with each other
(C) Israel completes the ethnic cleansing campaign by ramping up settler violence and making the lives of those remaining intolerable (continuation of status quo), so these areas can also be ethnically cleansed and displaced by Jewish settlers, to be annexed into Israel once the number of remaining Palestinians is tolerable for Israel to absorb into its Jewish supremacist state.

Curious for your thoughts on this @Falcon29 @Unknowntruth @Hassan Al-Somal

No options for Palestinians if PA continues to rule, sadly. I tried looking for any statement/position by the PA after that announcement by that Israeli minister and couldn't find anything. They don't even care. Useless bunch.

The world and Palestinians will likely end up pushing for (A) (one state solution) while the Zionists will push for options (B) or (C) ... option (B) is essentially the 'peace plan' proposed by Trump-Kushner...

it appears the biggest issue is the transition from phase 1 to phase 2 to reach a permanent ceasefire. Hamas wants US to commit to reaching phase 2. but US and Israel will not agree to this, because they want to keep their options open to continue the war if they cannot secure their maximalist demands from Hamas during the phase 2 negotiations. Hamas knows this and wants to make the US give guarantees of reaching phase 2. otherwise Hamas will free a lot of Israeli prisoners and Israel will resume the war.

Israel officially rejected Hamas' latest proposal but apparently gave a written guarantee that the phase 2 negotiations will continue without a time limit. this proposal is unlikely to be satisfactory to Hamas, which wants Israel to commit to a ceasefire and close the possibility of continuing the war after phase 1.

Media reports from Israeli security sources: The official in charge of the army hostage file said that he would resign if Netanyahu sabotaged the current efforts.

What Biden said about reaching Phase 2:

"Now, I’ll be straight with you. There are a number of details to negotiate to move from phase one to phase two. Israel will want to make sure its interests are protected.

But the proposal says if the negotiations take longer than six weeks for phase one, the ceasefire will still continue as long as negotiations continue.

And the United States, Egypt, and Qatar would work to ensure negotiations keep going — all agreements — all agreements — until all the agreements are reached and phase two is able to begin."

--

the devil is in the details...

1) Israel's "interests" will likely include total exclusion of Hamas from governance in Gaza, and the right to assassinate Hamas members in Gaza...

2) the Phase 1 'ceasefire' will only continue "as long as negotiations continue". so if negotiations fail (because of Israel's unrealistic demands), the ceasefire will end and the war will continue

3) the US will "work to ensure negotiations keep going". this is barely a commitment, and doesn't impose much of an obligation on the US to ensure negotiations continue

Hamas is disputing points 2 and 3 to ensure the US is committed to ensuring Israel cannot end the ceasefire and resume the war. in short, Hamas wants practical guarantees of a permanent ceasefire from the outset, while Israel is strongly resisting this and will not offer this. the middle ground is asking the US to commit to ensuring phase 2 negotiations succeed or last as long as needed, but this is a weak compromise and doesn't guarantee anything. I doubt Hamas will accept this but we will see.
