US has 11 carriers but only 2-3 of them are combat ready. The rest are sitting at the dock waiting for maintenance and some of those aging carriers are approaching their retirement age, but new carriers are not ready yet. On paper US has 11 carriers but in practice it’s a different story.

We have studied our opponents for decades, while they have known nothing about us.

I know lots of people always say you have to compare war experience vs no experience when comparing US navy and Chinese Navy? I always reply back bullying a weak country is not a real experience for US Navy. It will be different when you fight Chinese Navy

serious study of naval power would be based on aircraft carriers, surface combatants, coastal combatants, support ships, nuclear powered subs, conventional subs. naval aviation and general projection of aviation
