Government POL prices News and Discussions

So according to your logic that is also IK fault. 😆
Bhai jaan, why twist my words? Where did I even mention IK? I blamed Bhutto's Nationalization drive entirely.

Sadly, we should have been able to climb out of that 1 mistake by now.

no sir..

India had 3 large booming industrialized centers

1. Mumbai
2. Ahmedabad
3. Calcutta

Indian gov. handed over majority of such center to there, elite business class after 1947.
this was done, a quid pro quo consideration for a 'blank cheque' offered by such families to Indian politicians

so, no

your understanding, is not quite right
I said we took away from our Business elite and you said India gave concessions to their business elite. Where do we differ?

So Pakistan received oil shipment. then what is the reason behind 600 rs High octane cost ?

We Pakistanis are inherently dramaybaaz. We still bring up what Bhutto did to businessmen decades ago, but we don’t talk about what they did to Malik Riaz just recently. We don't learn anything from the history.
Malik Riaz, the thug who benefited from Zardari's Land Grabbing all over Sindh? The entire BTK project (inclusive of offshoots) is built on land either grabbed from the Government of Sindh or from poor people who were living in small villages there. Not that this point is relevant to this discussion. It is sad that people in the country are fans of this front man of the biggest mafia in Sind and Karachi.

Coming to the point, construction industry is very good for internal job creation, but it does nothing for exports and is generally not a repetitive industry, as in once construction is complete you generally just need maintenance which means any singular major construction project will drive up the need for a few years, but the need will significantly subside once the construction is complete. And it has no export incentive whereas it is import heavy too.

To pull the economy ahead, we need to be making things which we can export. Only through a considerable rise in exports can we make the economy grow decently.

Pakistan did receive the Oil shipment but not at the USD 64/Barrel as before for Petrol to be sold at Rs. 280 odd. Now, the price of Oil is above USD 100/Barrel, and the Government is not increasing the price of regular petrol accordingly.

So, where should the Government fund the difference from? Well, they deducted 5% of my Salary this month and will deduct 5% next month as well (this is amount on which I will also be taxed 35% on account of income tax). And they increased the cost of High Octane to over 600 when the regular Civic Turbo also needs it. Some of their measures don’t really make any sense, they are largely symbolic and political. Shehbaz Sharif also banned use of High Octane in Government Vehicles, just for make and show ofcourse; can their luxury cars be driven on regular petrol? No!

There is an Iranian gas pipeline built near the border to Pakistan.

Now would be a good time to reactivate the project and allow cheap gas into Pakistan.

I still cant understand the taxes and levis.

What is going on in pakistan ? Is there some threat and they are making reserves or just satisfying own companies and firms they owe.

This is unusual. Usually they know what citizens of pakistan despise most. Its the expensive daily goods. They will lose support.

Combination of few factors.

Pakistan’s oil imports, based on previous purchases should have catered to lower prices for several weeks, but the government decided to add levies and taxes. Probably thinking its a good opportunity to fill the budget gap. They’ve also hit overdrive with austerity narrative to keep the blowback of 2 private jets under wraps.

Anyways, the levy and tax on petrol were to increase in the coming days.

This government enjoyed a good 3 years of lower oil prices but didn’t focus on structural changes and long term fixes. Disincentivizing solar, the gift of IPP that keeps giving, and failure to think outside the box (restart Iran Pakistan gas pipeline) were a few things the state should have prioritized.

And here we are.

I never said concessions
nor did I mean, what you intend to describe
its not my fault, if you cant read or understand, plain truths!

and

dont twist or contort my posts!

dont mean to be confrontationist or condescending
I have noticed (and have observed you many times!)
Im starting to suspect, you lack the ability to dissent; with any semblance of manners.

Much like everywhere else in the world, profiteering.

All EU countries have 3 months oil supplies, so the fuel being used today was bought at the rates 3 months ago, but prices have gone up with every headline.

-------------

Actually i was wrong. Turns out countries do no use the fuel held in the reserves for the day to day market. They just keep that there just in case the supplies get cut off.

Bhai itna ghussa, what did I even write to invite such a scathing response?

This is what you wrote:

With the above, I understood that India gave concessions to the Business elite (against political favours) and so I posted that we do not differ on the points but actually agree on them.

lets discuss things in a polite respectable manner please

of course, your did nt show up before my reply!

now, every one should be polite

as I understand, you are supposed to impartial not hypocritical!
