Gun violence & Hate crime in the United States - Sticky

What would that mindset be?

You know my position on firearms. There is even a discussion about it. So please, enlighten me. Especially since this was in California; a state with very draconian laws when it comes to firearms ownership.
This has nothing to with Fire arms, but the rising hate against Muslims in US, lots of posts glamorizing New Zealand and Norway shooters, open calls for violence comes from high offices in USA govt, senators like Randy fine and others.

This incident will be same, buried under other news, same BS statements issued, people will be told shut up hate crimes or if you don't like it here then leave type, like I notice frequently even on this forum.

So they were 2 white terrorists ?
"Mental issues" , " Lone Wolfs ", look at this or that, is what you will get at best.
But lets see who the culprit is, it could very well be a case of some within community issue.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilahi Rajioun.

Stay safe everyone and if in your state it's legal to pack heat - do it. Rather have it and not need it than the other way around.
Bolded.....I don't disagree with this. I carry. Sometimes concealed. Others openly. In this area, not many notice or care.

When I'm down in PHX, rest assured, I am carrying concealed.

Given there are two deceased suspects, that likely rules out the "lone wolf" theory.

One of the suspects in today’s shooting at a San Diego mosque took a firearm from their parents’ home and left a suicide note that contained writings about racial pride, multiple law enforcement officials briefed on the latest told CNN.

Additionally, hate speech was scrawled on one of the weapons that was used in the shooting, the officials said.

The specifics of the language were not immediately clear.

Islamic Center also home to Al Rashid School

The Al Rashid School is located on the campus of the Islamic Center and offers weekend classes in "Arabic language, Islamic studies and Qur'an for young Muslims", according to its website.

Students who attend are aged five and up, with classes held every Saturday for both Arabic speaking and non-Arabic speaking families.

The center also offers a variety of family and youth programs, and it is busy with educational, religious and community gatherings.

We reported earlier aerial footage of children being evacuated through a parking lot of the Islamic Center, with nearby schools also placed on lockdown.

It isn't hard to imagine how terribly wrong this could have ended.

These were teenagers. That is extremely disturbing. It would be important to learn how these teenagers got radicalised. You don't just pick up a gun and start shooting at a place of worship.

I spent 13 years studying and working in the USA and I truly didn’t understand the obsession of citizens with the guns.

While working at a small county hospital in Norwalk , Ohio I had my surgical assistant paying 23 percent interest on her car , being a single Mother responsible for two kids and she owned about a dozen guns . She also bought a new one for $800 as her bday present to herself and always insisted I come down to her farm to target practice .

She was a wonderful person and I can truly say 95 percent of Americans I have interacted with and still do one weekend every month are truly amazing people … they carry this wierd suspicion of one another and inherent love for the weapons which unfortunately leads to violent incidents which could easily be settled peacefully if guns were not present on the scene .

Do you even know the type of material teenagers have access to these days? sites like 4chan or X, you have types of Randy fine, Laura loomer and that weirdo who was harassing Muslims in MN, i have seen so many posts regarding Mosques been some secret bases for Muslim brotherhood, or ISIS or whatnot. Which is echoed by the "Neutrals", in fact I was reading comments on CNN/ABC page, and you can see comments that are insensitive, give that mindset access to Rifles and this is what you get, we have seen that in our own country, Guns are everywhere and few people radicalized and you have a disaster at your hand, Hence I never support guns at the hands of civilians, people are crazy, a normal looking man can lose his marbles so quickly and do something like that, and this goes along every religion including radicalized Muslims who attack Jewish temples or churches, imagine if these people have no access to guns, lots of lives could be saved.

Hi, are you Caucasian?
Yes, I am. Why does that matter in the context of this conversation?

Regarding the Phoenix metropolitan area, one only needs to consult the crime statistics to see that things are getting worse, not better. Police-involved shootings are a near daily occurrence. Gang/drug-related violence is up. On the west side, ankle monitors are a fashion statement.

Unfortunately, I have to travel through some of those areas to get to where I am going.

Doubtful.

They would simply choose another avenue to commit their act(s) of terror.
