Gwadar Airport declared as int'l airport​

Following the development, the international flights will fly and land at the airport.

Acting Director-General of the Pakistan Airports Authority Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed visited the construction site of the airport.


ISLAMABAD: The federal government has formally declared Gwadar Airport as an international airport.

Following the development, the international flights will fly and land at the airport. Besides, the airport will also be used for transportation of cargos.

In this regard, FBR has issued two notifications. As per the first notification issued under section (9), the Gwadar airport is declared as an international airport while the second notification issued under section (10) legally allows passengers to take international incoming and outgoing flights at Gwadar International Airport.

The China-aided airport is a state-of-the-art 4F-grade facility capable of accommodating the world’s largest civil aircraft. Its 3,658-meter-long, 75-meter-wide runway, built with specialized foundation treatment, sets a new benchmark in engineering standards.

“The airport officially commenced operations on Jan. 20, and since then, we have received multiple small aircraft, but it is the first time when an Airbus successfully landed here, demonstrating the airport’s exceptional capacity to accommodate large aircraft,” Kakar said.

“We are well-equipped to welcome large passenger, cargo, and special flights, strengthening Gwadar’s connectivity with international destinations,” he added.

First Blood Bank Camp organized in Pak China Friendship Hospital

Pak China Friendship Hospital, operated in cooperation with Gwadar (Gwadar Pro) China, held its first blood donation camp on January 22 to meet the demand for blood in Gwadar and other parts of the region through blood transfusion services.


Free blood grouping, screening facilities were provided to every person who donated blood in the camp inaugurated by Gwadar Development Authority (GDA). The donated blood was also distributed to emergency patients as well as other needy people suffering from thalassemia and cancer.
