As I've always been saying, more GCC and job shift to India, US corporates are not going to keep low and mid level jobs there that can be done remotely

But what jobs in the GCC?

That is a very ignorant take. This order is meant for domestic consumption for the MAGA base and has nothing to do with geopolitics. Most likely, Trump himself would not even be able to name the top 3 countries whose nationals receive the H1B visa.

Stop being so obsessed with India. Not everything that happens in the world revolves around India.

In any case, while restrictions on H1B may be bad for certain Indians, they would be beneficial for India overall. The capital and skills brought back by returning expats would be a significant positive for the Indian economy. Many of the American companies would also simply move the job from the US to India if the cost and compliance burden in the US became too heavy.

India had changed a lot to create the current relationship with US. If they expect, India to fold completely, then that is unlikely.

In this regard we need to see Trump’s moves with even close allies. He has been ruthless even with EU and close buddy Canada. Why would he be any different with India, if India was part of any close coalition with US. Basically, US is an unreliable partner and it is good that India hadn’t completely sided with them and has kept the doors open with Russia.

How this pans out, isn’t known at this time. But India isn’t falling like a pack of cards.
