Pakistanis of all should look in the mirror while talking about Indian middle classes. Check out the inflation, prices of common goods, prices of luxury but necessary goods (Car, Bike) etc and you'll know the difference. I get these videos from Pakistan where a 0 meter Alto is 30-35 lakhs or the most selling bike is still 70cc. Kya hi majjak hai
Is their income equality in India - nope. Is India a society where upper middle and rich classes have the best life - yes.
But India has done a much better job of improving life standards for millions.
Marginal agreement.India car prices are low because it can take hit in trade deficit thanks to $230bn surplus with USA. Pakistan isnt that lucky and neither we wanted to play anti-China card to get USA investments.

What should I do![]()
You can use some of your money to buy a residence in India and invest in some small business to pay for upkeep of household. Then eventually you can retire to India. Your retirement savings will last longer as Indo-Pak is cheaper. Pakistan is 50% cheaper to live than US.Me and my wife discuss every week (if not every other day) if we want to move back to India. 5 things that are stopping us:
1. Boorish behavior of elites and people in general esp. in Northern states where most of my family and extended family is based.
2. Lack of the best education for children - even though a fair few good schools, issue is kids have an "attitude" which is much less in US. Plus tough competition to get into college - however now many kids are going abroad for undergrad.
3. Corruption - no resort to law. This hasn't changed since I left
4. Questionable women safety/freedom to move around - my wife can't go out alone after 8 or 9 in Delhi - not that something will happen but something can happen and it will be a foolish move
5. Help/Servant culture - having lived in US for past decade, we like to do our own chores, live in our own little world. Hard to get this in India
Good things are: 1. Won't have to "work" - savings will go a long way 2. More time with family 3. Better holidays/places to visit vs. USA 4. Spiritual contentment 5. Food 6. Many others
Don't know how long scales will be towards US... its a constant debate in our heads right now

Yup - was doing the mental math in AM. Have reached the FIRE number give or take a few crores. But quality of life in India vs US is still questionable.
Surely not all of India? The North and centre ok but the South looks lovely. Nice folks as well.
Well I would advise at least own some land or property in India, as you may be forced to make the move. Property prices seem to appreciate in developing countries at least. Lol. At least get your facts right. The WH spokesperson has already said this does not apply to extensions. Kind some other copium. Why do i get the feeling that since Indians occupied 50-70% of H1B visas even though they are no where near that percentage of international students in USA or global population, Trump did this precisely to screw many of them over so that over the next year when many would be re-applying for extension or re-petitions hundreds of thousands of Indians will have to leave creating vacuum of jobs, mostly in IT which will then be taken up by Americans.
Seems one more reason why Trump has been pissed at Modi since May 7th..........
