H-1B visas must end’: Wife of US citizen shares plight of landing IT jobs

That's called a job buddy.

Tell me what grad doesn't go through some period of grunt work early on their career, it's pretty much a rites of passage and necessary for the foundations of your future.

This repackaging of what was the norm..... as actually grunt work...... taken on with a heavy heart by others is complete cow dung.... It's capture of opportunity.

You already established that this opportunity of even 50,000 dollars is a dream, it's also a dream to get the experience of doing the work for a good many people.... And then to bring over your family or start a family

And again, I don't even think half of these visas issued are doing grunt work

I am assuming people doing grunt work are not going to be allowed to come easily into the USA. I assume they will be done abroad at a maximum 1/3rd the salary of an American software engineer.

Even the Indian dudes who came to USA after 2013 are all waiting for green cards in a queue that lasts 100 years.

It's not grunt work.

It's a complete false category.

How exactly is it grunt work? How many people do it?

At worst it's an office job where you have to code a lot..... That's not India doing anyone a favor 😂😂😂

Go on buddy, just shooooo for a few more pages and reappear when it's safe

This has to be a troll. How can you simply just divorce your husband for a visa? 🫨

could be true, as well!

not saints people living abroad, most of them mentally corrupt

in London, I have seen asylum claiming Pak., Ind and Somalis selling council homes, allocated to them on monthly rentals, thus, depriving deserving people!

they have no religion and souls, they sell everything!

and I mean everything!

If I pay $150,000, I get folks to do "grunt work". At $50,000, it is hard to get anyone in the USA. Let me know if there are anyone other than graduate research assistants and undergraduate interns, who work at that salary

@nahtanbob

Nathan Anna,

That is the whole point. @r3alist bro is defending the entitled white American kids right to earn USD 150 k for doing what you call grunt work.

Regards

Then simply get graduate type level...

I am not at all convinced that say 15 h1b types vs 8 American citizens would have any difference in productivity. I would think that the due to cultural and educational differences, the team of American 8 would have a higher ceiling of capability

The only difference is the American would want to move on after two years

I have my close relative, who is a Director in EY in Los Angeles.

I know very well, how rich people (whether Ind or Pak.) plan for years to keep jobs in their homes!

in the past 10 years, I have seen so much, I have now started to feel that its better that dooms day inches near!

Rich and religious cult, are complete sell out, nothing you ever see these days is real!

football club money, Bitcoins, ETFs etc etc... all just 'money boards' are meant to suck life out of poor!

sorry!

@Mighty_Dragon_Strike

That is why all of us Indians here on PDF want as many Indians as possible to get into management positions in USA so that most jobs are bagged by our people.

then you are no different!

without meritocracy and highest moral values, no society can survive!

when I was preparing for p7 (last paper of ACCA) in 2010, I had a teach, who was DGM at 3rd biggest bank in Pak..

he once told us, 'he is meant to become president of the bank'!

I ask him why he believes that he is meant to become a president, after all he is not a J.Simmons or a tech, quant or great thinker or philo.?

whats the intuition of such a belief........

his reply, even haunts me to this day..

he said, because, his grand father was also a president at some other bank so now, he is destined to become a president!

good luck saving such a society!

and then when I joined practical life..

I can count several instances where I have seen people just jumping around positions

because, his/her relative thought, 'they deserved this position!'

sad but true, its an unwritten, never to be outspoken in Pak!

one time, I had a colleague, who was qualified CA and could not even handle excel functions like Vlookup..

I asked, whats the reason, its not that he is not smart, guy was proper genius!

he said to me, I dont want to work, my cousin is a partner in Oman, I will be leaving in a while, so I dont want to work ever... just relax and chill and yeah say prayer 5 times a day!

good luck, with these people, which are 99.99% in pak!

Indian paid Western media propagating this new "humanitarian" aspect. Unbelievable the tactics Indians play. So it means if Indian tech workers aren't making about $ 100,000 per year in dollars, they can't survive :ROFLMAO:

Fortune

Over 70% of H-1B visa holders are Indian citizens. Its government says Trump jacking the fee to $100,000 is ‘likely to have humanitarian consequences’

Depends on the job market. And $50,000 is not bad at all for the unemployed. And also not bad in low cost regions. Some browsing of Glass Door may help you how desperate people are.

It will be interesting to see how many these start appearing in job postings. This is for a Junior Data Engineer role offering up to $35/hour. Pathetic salary but far better than unemployed.

"PLEASE NOTE: This is a 6 month renewable contract to hire and needs to meet Client full-time conversion policies. Those dependent on a work permit sponsor now or anytime in the future (ie H1B, OPT, CPT, etc) do not meet Client requirements for this opening."

@Meengla

And $50,000 is not bad at all for the unemployed.

I am assuming that the unemployed person is not unemployable as well

Very true brother. I remember there was a trend of Afghans claiming to be LGBT to get asylum in Europe. 😅
