Dont worry about the knowing about the role, there are lots of places to go and lean about Data / Data science before you start - hell, you can even spend some money on a book. Datalakes are interesting field to get into right now, they drive a lot of visualisation you referred to, as well as AI models themselves .

Thank you! I have not accepted the role yet. Like a typical American techie, I want MORE job security and MORE $$. Hahaha! It is a game I have long played--for more than a quarter century since I graduated from a university in America. So I have contacted those companies who have been 'considering' me to hurry up and make up their mind.
It is a dangerous game to play in this job market, but the thing about losing it all--I can afford to live off my Savings for quite a while more. It ain't no 'Sex and the City' lifestyle here. Hahaha!

Firms will invest - one way or another - in actually facilitating an alternative workforce to the invading H1b tribals.

There is of course another possibility. Firms could set invest in GCCs in IND and employ the invading tribals in their native woods.

Well, I have just received my first job offer; another six figure one. A 'Data Analyst' role. Trying to see if fake or not but I did have to answer some probing technical questions and also shared a data visualization dashboard; scammers generally don't ask for those things. However, any emails with international cricket sports stars names like 'Kevin Pieterson' are always a suspect--and too many times I have encountered Westernized names and upon phone chat, found barely understandable thick Indian accents. Hahaha!!

PS. If legit, I will thank President Trump a lot!! Actually, I had no issues with him on the 2024 elections voting except I knew he would be even harsher on the Palestinians then Biden was and that unfortunately has been proven true.

I know several people who’ve been job hunting for over a year without any success. Even I’ve been searching for more than two months now, and haven’t received a single email or call.

Have you reached out to companies that send you out as a contractor ? Assuming this is IT.

Another technique is to lean into your network. All the people you know, ask them if there are any openings they know about.

Companies in smaller cities usually have harder time finding skilled people. Are you open to relocating ?

I am skeptical not only about the frauds, Indians or not, but also about the unethical corp practices. The last role I ended was almost six months ago. While the corp that employed me, said it was a 'six month Contract' but soon after I got onboard, I was told '4-4.5 months'. I had actually protested that even the six month was too short given the challenges. But the worst part was through my work, they said you have only two weeks to wrap it up--thus cutting my time to only about 3.5 months. I believe they pocketed the contract money but I was determined to wrap it all up and nearly killed myself working literally day and night in the last few weeks. It took all of my skills and experience. I completed the project because I didn't want to be a 'failure' and it had became a 'challenge' for me to wrap up that project on a personal level. Only my wife knows how much effort I put into wrapping that up as she saw me working late hours and then walking to the laptop almost all nights at 2-3 am. I became almost physically sick by the time I was done. I got high accolades or the wrap up but that experience has probably permanently shattered my faith in professional work--and I had been generally a very trusting person till then.
And so I am being careful in accepting any new role going forward.

It is a busy day for me today with not only that offer, which I am still trying to figure out, but also at least two others already who want to now negotiate the salary and/or asking me for a technical interview given their 'immediate' need to hire.
Apply to as many as possible using Indeed, Zip Recruiter, Dice... I believe the tech job market is opening for the locals in America, at least on short term, no small thanks to President Trump. But your acceptance for 'any' offer is dependent upon your own circumstances though generally it seems more likely to get a job when you have a job. In my case, I was not too keen to get a job in most of the last six months because I wanted to make a trip to Pakistan, which I concluded about two weeks ago, and so I was a little wishy-washy--plus I have some savings to lean on; comes with getting 'old'. Hahahah!!

You're absolutely right—I'm in IT and using all the options, including Indian consulting firms. However, my main concern is that I haven't received not even a phone call or an email in response.

I’m definitely open to relocating—let’s see how things unfold.

This method worked for me in the past, its time consuming but at least someone would still see your resume.

1. Get a listing of companies in an industry.
2. Visit their job boards
3. If you find a job you believe you are qualified, create a profile and submit a tailor made resume to them. Make sure your resume has all the keywords.

I would also suggest you hire a resume writer to just check your CV. Keep trying.

Indians from Goa and South India, are very refined.

People from Mumbai are not bad, but, I tend to avoid them totally

Not sure why as a Pakistani you should feel embarassed about the antics of Indian IT employees.

I certainly didn't feel embarassed when PU girls were dancing to the tune of "Mere rashke qamar mazaa aa gaya" in Lahore, while US students were protesting the going ons in Gaza.
