Meanwhile....Accenture cutting staff globally, adding staff in India

Accenture Job cuts: Accenture has reduced its global workforce by more than 11,000 in the past three months and signaled that further job cuts could follow if employees cannot be retrained for the age of artificial intelligence. The IT consulting giant on Thursday detailed an $865mn restructuring programme alongside an outlook reflecting weak corporate demand for consulting projects and reduced US federal spending.

India is at the centre of Accenture’s talent strategy. Outlining the hiring strategy for FY25 at an earnings call on September 26, Julie Sweet, Accenture’s chair and CEO, said, “We are hiring primarily in India, so a lot of that hiring is technology, in India.”

Thank you.
It was certainly a well crafted scam, preying on the vulnerable. Thank God, I am prepared to be unemployed into at least early 2026 and so I could afford to scrutinize.
Was it something along the lines of, the company from Australia or somewhere will send you a check for $10,000. Which you will deposit into your account, then you must give the handler (point of contact) $5,000. The other $5,000 is yours for the fake job you did for them, i.e. designed a BS website or wrote a code etc.
And then you find out the check was fraudulent and you gave them 5k of your own. 🤣 fking pa jeets bro.

AZ Saar,

I was a candidate for a position that would have required relocation to SEA. Told them I wasn't interested.

After you rejected the offer, it is possible that some Indian immigrant might have taken up the offer. In that case can you stay that the headbobbing HIndu H1B immigrant stole the job?

That's how it works. Migrants from poorer countries have fire in their belly and will take up assignments that people from wealthier countries will not take up- at least not at the same price point.

Don't really know nor care. What I do know is the weather is more depressing than not. Not seeing sunshine on a regular basis is not good for the psyche.

Then there is the filth and homeless problem.

Then there is the politics and stance against the 2A, neither of which I can support.

As it was, being very familiar with the job requirements, there was frankly no need to relocate to SEA. The position required at least 50% travel. That coupled with the collaboration tools available, the position could be anywhere so long as you are close to an airport and able to be on the internet. Neither are a problem for me. And which I also conveyed.

AZ Saar,

Then there is the politics and stance against the 2A,

What is the 2A politics?

The 2nd Amendment. The Right to Keep and Bear Arms. One of the 10 amendments that make up the US Bill of Rights.

The State of Washington is doing everything it can to infringe on that right.

Agreed, Saar. Americans have the right to be armed to the teeth (and use it against their fellow Americans at the drop of a hat). Any infringement upon that must be staunchly resisted.

They've done the same in the UK.

British jobs have been sold to Indians in return for British whisky exports to India.

The British worker is worth less than a bottle of whisky.

So when Trump calls India a dead economy, you better believe it.
Indian business MO.

Honestly the Brits are so dumb - sold their last steel plant to Mital, outsourced all their IT to India via Capita, sold the ship building yard to Greece, their rescue helicopter service is outsourced to the US, all their airports are run by an American giant, sold their t1 and FTTP infrastructure to israel and China - were about sub contract the construction of a new nuclear power plant to China and planned to sell their largest PCB and chip manufacturing company to China but MI6 got involved and said no.
