Trials are necessary for stuff that are made indigenously, to reduce import dependence int he long run. I wonder how many countries can even make such milspec radomes.

How long have trials been going on? Are these new radomes?
 
“We are in the process of conducting flight trials. This will be the final assesment, but the crucial thing is that our technology has met all requirements of the IAF during multiple evaluation trials,” a senior DRDO official told TOI.

“The technology has been developed to eliminate dependence on imported radomes and support the growing production of the LCA Mk1A. It complies with all mechanical and electrical requirements specified for the aircraft’s operating environment,” DRDO officials said.

Just seems like a never ending round of tests, integrations and trials that seem to go on for years, if not decades, while at the same time we are told dilvery is immiment and never seems to happen....
