Trials are necessary for stuff that are made indigenously, to reduce import dependence int he long run. I wonder how many countries can even make such milspec radomes.

Yes these are new. Earlier indigenous radome was for Mk2 so this one for Mk1A is likely derived from it.

“We are in the process of conducting flight trials. This will be the final assesment, but the crucial thing is that our technology has met all requirements of the IAF during multiple evaluation trials,” a senior DRDO official told TOI.

“The technology has been developed to eliminate dependence on imported radomes and support the growing production of the LCA Mk1A. It complies with all mechanical and electrical requirements specified for the aircraft’s operating environment,” DRDO officials said.

Just seems like a never ending round of tests, integrations and trials that seem to go on for years, if not decades, while at the same time we are told dilvery is immiment and never seems to happen....

No? They will be added in the production batches later. At 24-30 per annum the entire lot will take 6-7 years. Existing lots won't be waiting for it.

It's a copy of the one developed by Cobham in the UK, because the ones you little indians developed blocked the radar signal. You acquired the tech from Cobham and made copies in india, and as usual call it "indigenous".

Yeah they told you personally about some IPR giveaways... like if the one we made was blocking radar signal long time back it is obvious it would be fixed in the meantime. Idk where you read that though.

Begging for what? Do you even read what you post? The report is of R&DE(E)'s radome's trials.
