HAL LCA Tejas: Updates, News & Discussions

Can see LT-5203 (third Tejas trainer) in a state that looks like it's ready to be handed over. LT-5205 is also looking like it's undergoing engine tests before being handed over. Plus can see the Elta 2032/MMR radar on one of the remaining 3 Tejas trainers that is not yet painted.

think we can all agree some purchases have been dubious or come far too late,
Not dubious but definitely late.

Posters from both sides have to take the blame and not only the Indian ones for derailing many threads.

The build quality / panel fit looks awful!!!! Surprised - they should have corrected the quality issues by now! You can drive a car through some of those panel gaps!!

So the Indians are doing their unveilings now like the Chinese in „Salamitaktik und scheibchenweise“? At first some rumours, then a picture excerpt and only in a few days everything complete!

Thread pinned.

Members advised to not go into circular loop pattern with other members past a point. If you are not getting anywhere new....just let it go and let the matter blow over.

@gambit Can you assess if the gaps in this airframe looks shoddy for an under construction / prototype fighter?

I dunno how to assess this but here are some comparisons.
Grippen, production plane.

There is no 'quality' issue. This is the composite panel with coating (I think epoxy). The final coating is not done. I have seen many jets in this config during testing ebfore the final coating is applied.

Is hurjet the same level as, say, the Sitara? This looks like in the same league.

Looks like antenna is changed from previous one.

Maybe because previous one was in UHF band, and this new one in L-band for BNET.
