HAL LCA Tejas: Updates, News & Discussions

It took 42 years for the project to reach this far where, now we find, the Indian air force is struggling to keep it properly maintained. How embarrassing to turn up at a prestigious international event and then to have a bad leak from your plane, an aircraft you're trying to promote to an international audience, and to show off the industrial and technological capability of India... Holy moly.

More than the leaks itself - the placement of shopping / gift bags reflects poorly on the professionalism.

When it comes to defending the Indian air space I'm.beginning to think we better start ordering some serious numbers of both the Rafale from France and Su57mki or F35 lightening from USA ...

I just can't see Tejas or Amca coming in the numbers and in the time schedule they keep suggesting

I can see an indian air force by 2040 made up of

Rafales 100+
Su57 Mki 50+
Su30mki 250+

With token number of 100 Tejas only mark 1a
With Tejas mark 2 scrapped and Amca in flight Testing still now where ready to enter service ...
Some old vintage Mirage 2000/mig29 still.making another 100 planes with only 50% availablity rate as they would obselete

Nothing unusual. Not even a defect.
A fighter jet leaking oil is as common as a man taking a pi$$.

Sounds realistic. Although, I wouldn't count Su-57 until things are absolutely clear in that direction. Mirage-2000 could last beyond 2040. Not so sure about MiG-29.

We know that, it was how it was handled. It is so common but IAF crews were unprepared for it. Sums it all up.

Except Army is not facing the HAL problem. India now has plethora of private companies providing equipment to local and foreign vendors (Next 10 year will see massive boom). Ofcourse Army still prefers to buy phoren but things are not dire like IAF. Both Army and Navy are making progress with indigenization. IAF is crippled due to expensive nature of planes, HAL monopoly and difficulty of building a well designed engine.

yes ofc they aren't in the same situation but arjun is like tejas ,40 years development and only bought 141 units and in the end army ended up choosing t90

You guys are all wrong. Last time at the Dubai air show the tejas had to be tied up so it does not run away and commit suiside

This time it is actually crying 😢 with. Blood/ oil tears, why do they not let it die
, why don’t they let it end it!!! Why oh why oh cruel world

T-90 purchases, AH-64 purchases, Strker purchases all contradict what you said

No I didn't. You are just acting you. Instead of reading what you want to read, read what I actually wrote.

AH-64 is perfect example of corruption in purchases. In 10-15 years, these military babus are going to die and India will be free of their worthless weight.
