HAL LCA Tejas: Updates, News & Discussions

can someone please verify the social media posts claiming Tejas crash? if its AI then its done in poor taste . I wont share it here.I would keep the mutual jokes up to flued leaks for JF-17 and Tejas.

i think genuinely this may be the nail in the coffin for tejas, no engines, hal incompetence, delays, import lobby etc, and now this
this maybe cynical but this is the perfect opportunity to can the project ,

Not really. It has 180 units contracted and the only issues left are Indian weapons trial. IAF is willing to take deliveries only when Astra Mk-1 is integrated which HAL is yet to do with Israeli radar. Engine supplies have stabilised.

It has been problematic due to step-motherly treatment by all parties involved but it isn't going anywhere.

We have no import option left. Rafales too expensive, Su-57 prone to sanctions.

It was not on the jet, the pilot couldn't recover his aircraft.

More su-30s? ..

Oh no ... R.I.P. and condolence to the family!

If you look at this video the jet was in rolling maneuver ...not in over-the-top-Loop like Polish or Pakistani F16 incident.

This could be sudden engine failure loss of power during roll over

looks like pilot error, he did tried to recover but it was too late, the pitch of the aircraft seemed to be rising towards the end

were this months engines delivered?

i feel like thos means not much, i dont see why the project cant be canned. its basically beating a dead horse at this point, with the lastest crash, it just tarnishes the name further
Not at all. This is the only option left with IAF. Their plans for 114 Rafales would screw finances forever as they would easily cost >$30bn.
