Thesis about what? HAL in almost all cases, held there contractual agreements. And as it is your thesis, its of no value, because obviously you have never done any research on HAL, and how they have follewed all the contractual agreements, and which one they have violated and how much.You can set up as many lines as you want, but if each line only produces 6 planes (as has happend for last 10 years on the single line) my thesis holds. IAF probably cares not one jot about number of lines, simply planes delivered I imagine.

AMCA, Tejas Mk1 and LCA Mk2 (and if you had done your thesis right, then you had known ADA project name is LCA Mk2 not Tejas Mk2) are projects of ADA, not HAL. HAL projects are Tejas Mk1A, Tejas SPORT, Hawk i and CATS.You are convincing yourself that a government run company with a terrible track record of meeting deadlines can similtanously run three major projects (AMCA, Tejas MK1/1A and Tejas MK2) and test, produce and deliver all these in time? Something no other country is doing?

Indeed.Yes, you may well need 1:1 replacment too, as each IAF squadron is much more powerful then it was in the 60s, 70s and 80s, but that also goes for each PAF and PLAAF squadron

- Tejas Mk1A has a new AESA radar
- new digital AESA EW suite with new digital wide band RWR
- easier maintainability as per IAF requirements from Tejas Mk1
- podded self protection jammer
- Twin/dual rack (WVRAAM) pylons to accommodate the ASPJ and 1 CCM on right/left outermost hardpoint, allowing for carriage of 2 CCMs plus ASPJ
- Longer ranges of detection and tracking with the AESA radar meant that using a longer range BVRAAM was possible. That meant the 60 km range Derby BVRAAM can be supplanted by the longer range Astra Mk1 and then 150-160 km range dual pulse Astra Mk2
- Improved low observability (he didn't mention how)
- Increased processing power requirement meant new Mission Computer & display processor and new DFCC hardware
- Smart MFDs replacing the earlier MFDs
- The new avionics and architecture will allow the Tejas Mk1A to remain contemporary for the next 20 years without needing major upgrades
- Network centric warfare capability to use datalinks with other fighters and AWACS
- In addition to all the weapons that Tejas Mk1 can carry, the Mk1A can carry and use 2 different LGBs whereas Tejas Mk1 could use only 1 type of LGB (Israeli Griffin)
- Can use the ASRAAM that gives a 270-360 deg FoV launch capability
- JSTOW (?) stand off strike weapon with 100 km+ range is being integrated with the Tejas Mk1 and will be used on Mk1A as well. (Could be referring to Edge Aerospace's Al-TARIQ's range of stand off weapons which are being integrated with the Tejas Mk1)
- Some test firing of missiles with the new avionics to be done
- Some test points with the sensors needs to be done
- Subsequently production will continue
- 2 more Tejas Mk1A to be handed over to the IAF by May/June 2024.
Uttam AESA radar updates:
- Uttam AESA radar will come from 41st serial production Tejas Mk1A onwards. Till then it's the imported Elta 2052 on the Mk1A.
- Uttam AESA radar has been integrated on the Tejas Mk1 and has completed almost 125 test flights
- Complete Air to air performance, air to ground ranging performance, and some other features have been tested
- Few flight tests are still pending for Uttam AESA radar which will be done shortly
- Performance of Uttam AESA radar is on par with the Elta 2052 and in some respects it is better than the imported Elta 2052.
- Uttam AESA radar hardware clearance for production is already given
Tejas Mk2 updates:
- In full swing
- ALmsot all drawings released for part manufacturing
- Airframe realization and jigs/fixtures are getting ready
- Wing is loaded for assembly
- Tejas Mk2 avionics are totally different from Mk1A with very different architecture that will allow software to be loaded much more easily (similar to the architecture on Gripen E/F which separates flight critical software from other software)
- Software development is in an advanced stage
- Target for Tejas Mk2 first flight (!) by Sep-Oct 2025.
AMCA
- Since CCS sanction came after CDR was completed, the AMCA prototype is now in the metal cutting stage and drawing stage, so both the Tejas Mk2 and AMCA may come in parallel.
