HAL LCA Tejas: Updates, News & Discussions

But not what Pakistan are fielding

There vipers are four decades old

Dated engines and radars battered airframes
a. We've got Block 52's too
b. Our Older Vipers have gone through MLU, genius.
c. Four Decades old, huh? How's your inventory looking, huh? Heard you're still flying the Flying Coffins. Those Jags must be brand-spanking-new, huh. Didn't the Mirage 2000s' arrive 4 Years after our F-16's...?

Those dated Engines & Battered Airframes sure made shortwork of your awesome Vayu Sena back in 2019.

I know, I know, "...agar Rafale hota".

But hey, your SAM (Surface to Air Missile) system is good. Atleast it works..., I meant that. I mean afterall, it took out a SAR Mi-17 & killed/barbequed, what - 7 Jawans.
Heck even Jordan scrapped their block 15/30 vipers ...Pakistan got some for free off them

They are junk now
Tairi MA baithi thee negotiation table pay when we were getting those "junk" F-16s'?

If they were junk, why cry about 10 Years ago?

Why does your Minister of sExternal Affairs mind when US provides us with spares?

Pata hai na...kay ye PAF hai - koi handicap Air Force nahe like yours.

Aoo, test kar lo same Squadron ko. Lug-pata jaey ga.

You're actually using an F-16 engine, d!ckhea

F16 engine ??
When you were simply asked to compare technologies, you ended up writing verbose diarrhea below.
Good, tag more of your compatriots if getting likes on such rubbish gets you a sense of false pride.

I...I...I..I...i've never been so speechless on [PDF] 1.0 or 2.0...

No seriously.

I/we have heard some really bizarre crap and b.s. here, but that ☝️ takes the cake.

To compare any F-16 with your piece of crap is absurd, but to say that its actually better than the latest variant, the F-16 Block 70/72 is laughable :ROFLMAO: .

By making such a statement only explains that the planet you're on, hasn't even been discovered yet.

You obviously don't know d!ck about what you're talking about.

Sure, you wanna market your TEJAs to be better than the JF-17, go ahead. Its your "Indian Defence Forum". Don't wanna upset the rest of your posse.

But, as I mentioned earlier - you're in the same boat as us (JF-17) & KAI's T-50 which probably blows you out of the sky.

It doesn't matter if its the Basic, MK1 or MK2 - they are NOT in the same league as the Mighty Viper, or the Gripen or even the J-10c.

Dude if PDF Admins started charging a small fee for each post, most of these waste of space creatures would disappear like a fart in the wind. I have never ridiculed Tejas but onething can't be denied that the time Tejas has taken to become operational in numbers, most aircraft are nearing their service lives.
Which Year blk3 started getting inducted ? How many jf17 Blk3 Pakistan has ? That has to be the benchmark for comparison, considering Mk1A features match head to head with it.

Compared technologies...?

Seriously.

You're actually using an F-16 engine, d!ckhead.

What, you want me to compare a Ferrari (F-16) with a Nissan Tida (TEJAs)?

Just get your piece of sh!t up in the air & try not living up to your Crash Records.

Let see how many of those react to me pointing out your oversmart gaffe.

For sure. I think the fact that they're elongating the body to make it a medium-weight fighter is the main factor that will give it that extra sexy look. It'll stream-line the aircraft more. Plus the close-coupled canards also give it that Euro-canard look and I think it's safe to say most of us agree the Euro-canards are all sexy as heck, from the Rafale to the Typhoon to the Gripen. And speaking of Gripen, if these renderings are anything close to the eventual final design, the Mk2 will have more of a resemblance to the Gripen than anything else. Certainly from this top view.

And this angle has Rafale written all over it.

Between the Mk2 and Rafales, I'd say the IAF will be pretty stacked.

And this render for the possible naval Mk2 is wild, to say the least. This thing is jacked up lol. Love the interesting individual leading edge slats, if there is any validity to those. Perhaps the leading wing edge is not perfectly straight and has 3 different straight edges or even a curve which would necessitate separate sections of forward flaps.

Is it true that the naval Mk2 could possibly have horizontal stabilizers too with the delta wings?

Looks like it's losing the tapered ends at the LERX and those bulbous intakes are insane-looking! Almost looks like it's to be a dedicated interceptor, designed like a dart, to go straight and super fast. Intriguing with the mini H-stabs.
Agreed, the top view does look a lot like gripen, the bottom view i fail to see much of Rafale in it but thats just my eye. I see what i see lol. The renderings of naval lca's leading edges look like they arent in the same horizontal plane, they seem to be sectioned and each section slightly angled to give a sort of curved look. That looks very very nice.

I wasnt a huge fan of the initial lca design, but it has come a long way since the first prototype in early 2000s. Wish the mk2 came a lot sooner.

Here again, just astonished the incapabilities of so called members, who claim big things, but fail to establish anything.
One thing i noticed, the new pdf seems to give these grandoise titles to just about anyone.

And boy some of the Pakistani posters have been very very triggered, looking at these posts, wonder what got their panties in a bunch.

Viper is mighty IE block 60 and above
But not what Pakistan are fielding

You want vipers go get the new ones block 70.
IAF rejected the F-16 in the 2008 MMRCA, calling it obsolete.

O bhai..., the stuff this clown has claimed - sounds as if TEJAs is Gods gift to Nations looking to buy a 4th Gen Jet.

I mean, all those Countries that just placed orders for the Block 70/72, like Bahrain, Solvakia, Bulgaria, Morocco, Taiwan, Turkey and Croatia - all got it wrong & should have gone for the might TEJAs.

This clown said something about Radar. What, the Viper has AESA too.

Does the TEJAs have the Auto GCAS? If not..., ya'll need to get in touch with LM & tell 'em that you guys need it - bad.

I don't know what advantage there is 'bout being small & lighter. Its not display fest at an Air Show.

Anyways, lets see.

First get a customer to buy that flying dosa. Hopefully some lucky Nation will have the honors of shooting it down with a Viper.
How many TR modules does the AESA radar of the F-16 have, what is its range, and what is the RCS of the F-16? RCS optimization was not considered important during the era when the F-16 was being designed.

I noticed real campaign to malign the mass orders of Tejas
I think they are miffed that Indian military has gone after indengious air power a big big way

Have you noticed they never say a word about our massive Indengious navy
We build everything from carriers to nuke subs destroyers . They never ridicule

1020 TRMs.

Please stop comparing the Tejas to the F-16 - they are not, and were never meant to be in the same class.
I know the Tejas and F-16 are not in the same category, but in a one-on-one scenario, the Tejas would have the advantage of detecting and locking onto the F-16 first in BVR combat. Because Tejas has small RCS and long-range radar. Although the F-16 is also equipped with a long-range radar, its large RCS makes it easily detectable and therefore more vulnerable to BVR missiles.

Not an F-16 engine
One of the engines used in the superhornet

Tejas Mk1 is maybe comparable to 80% of what sits in a block-2

Tejas Mk1A is comparable to Block-3 in some ways except EW or the new single seat F/A-50

Tejas Mk2 could be compared to Gripen.

The F-16V is beyond any of these aircraft

No… just no

You have no idea what the RCS of the block-70 is with its current updates and you probably don’t want to take the earlier F-16s as ballpark.

Block-70 with its current kit will pick out Tejas MK1A earlier , get to a higher energy state for its BVR launch much earlier and be able to deploy more effective countermeasures earlier.

Jamming pods that DRDO has developed for LCA MK1A and SU-30 MKI are based on GaN T/R modules. Our LCA Mk1A will have GaN based HBJ pods/EW suite from its first model this year. These ASPJ/HBJ pods we've developed for LCA-Mk-1A & Su-30MKI are both capable of transmitting and receiving thus consisting of both TX and RX antennas. This configuration would allow both the fighters to do cross-eye jamming much effectively, thereby deceiving the enemy radar by creating false targets. MKI is already a very powerful jet, just imagine the kind of jamming power at its disposal with GaN EW suite
