HAL LCA Tejas: Updates, News & Discussions

Guys just listen to them naysayers
The Tejas looks like cheap drone
The Tejas mark la will.arrive only when the world including Pakistan apparently have moved to Fifth generation fighters and ditched their fourth generation fighters inside 10 years..

Say what ever you like
Tejas Mark 1a is far superior to migs and jags it will replace
Far superior to anything in Pakistan bar the twenty or so J10c ...and yes that includes your legacy forty year old falcons your so proud of ..

Now When j31 arrives in Pakistan and kaan arrives I suggest we leave these out the conversation
Tejas is here they are ten years away

PAF will replace Mirage and f-7 BY 2030, new inductions of JF-17/J-10 are ensuring that.

J-10/JF-17B3/F-16/J-31 combined will give PAF decent numbers, even if they have to reduce force size, more capable planes are coming online. By 2030 new planes will be J-31 being inducted as India inducts Tejas MK1A.

Listen if your trying to compare Pakistan induction potential versus India then good luck bro
Because ten to one will get very hard for you Pakistani people ...you better stay in china.s good books

The day you induct twenty j31 expect massive push by
Lockheed i
Dassult
BA Space

To be all over India to buy theirs

wow, just be happy the pilot survived then

@Bhojpuranchali any intimation that stealth coatings were done to the airframe? Or was that just non-stealth 'normal' airframe.
The tweet suggests that it’s not some prototype but just an airframe intended for stress testing on the ground. But, under Erdogan's pressure, it was made to fly without radar, mission computers, or any other essential components. It appears to have been merely a PR exercise by Erdogan before elections.
A FBW aircraft cannot be flown without computer. It is too unstable.

What is the average loiter time for mark1a
Compared to mirage 2000
Or F16

Can you outline these "flaws",
My bad. I quoted Dhanoa on J20 and not J31. J20 had issues, J31 I am not aware of. Looks wise, I find it good. In any case looks is not the department where an aircraft needs to excel, but where it matters it should.
It could be a capable platform.

Nonetheless, India can’t halt all its efforts on this front because China seems to be ahead of us.

we went simply by looks then IAF would not be buying Tejas.
Trolling? I will let it pass. A man needs a little bit of this to try and derail threads and flame bait. Poor effort though.

What flaws and issues J-20 has?

The biggest is canards. As a control surface it is a great way to fly the aircraft but design wise it isn’t a good choice for any aircraft aiming to reduce its radar signature. That’s why no other contemporary 5th gen aircraft has canards.

This isn’t a very big flaw or an issue, unless the effort was to create a stealth design.

Then there were many articles about engine availability and Chinese ones not able to do justice to the airframe. They could have been addressed by now. How well? No idea.

Can anyone provide the combat range of the Tejas MK1A? It has significantly improved. The data currently available on Wikipedia about the combat range of the Tejas is for the IOC version, which was later enhanced in the FOC version and further improved in the MK1A.

Early in 90s beginning of JSF program, Lockheed Martin build a mockup of design that had canards and delta wings similar to J-20 but with 1 engine and NASA developed and tested X-36 which had canards and told publicly that it was extremely stealthy, and upcoming USN 6th gen jet named F/A XX will also have canards, so canards are not posing any significant increase of RCS

Tejas MK1A has greater range, increased payload carrying capacity, and enhanced maneuverability compared to the earlier Tejas MK1 models (IOC and FOC).
