Note this year 2025,USA has chosen it's 6th gen fighter to be built.
We are still struggling with our 4th gen fighter for more thn 2 decades. And still the final iteration(lca mk2 ) is far away.
I Don't know why but I got a feeling that NGAD might arrive earlier thn mk2.
LA-5039, the 7th Tejas Mk1A

Pic credit- Fighter on X
The question is: Does it already have an engine installed?
Don't WorryI noticed nobody criticises out navy for indengious weapons
Very quiet on that front
The air force will get their act together sooner or later

What do you think ?The question is: Does it already have an engine installed?
Exactly Tejas mk2 & AMCA will set up industries Which then can roll out aircrafts like NGAD. Especially on the engine front.A separate set of tech is being built so that when we finally decide to go 6th we don't start from scratch like we did for Tejas

By 2032/24 all JF 17 will.be discarded by PAF ?by the time all MK1A is delivered [estimated b 2032/34] it will be obsolete. BY then PAF will have already inducted J35A in numbers plus PAF version of KAAN rolling off the production line in PAC in addition to single engine 5th PFX . Add to it stealth UAV's and trusted wingman.
while on the other hand, IAF will have samosa MK1A in numbers that is at best a 4 gen fighter, few more squadrons of rafael, may be few squadrons of MLUed type upgraded Su30MKi. AMCA will still be on the drawing board with few test examples lurking around at the best [highly unlikely]. if I am IAF fanboy i will be worried ..... really worried.
beating its chest like a white gorilla, with some near 5th gen version of AMCA. again a sorry state.
