Date of Commission 30 May 1943 OTS Bangalore.
Alma mater Central Model School Lahore, Islamis College Government College Lahore.
Punjab Swimming Color 1941. Represented All India Punjab at Indian Olympiad at Calcutta.
Commission 2 Punjab Burma Campaign. At partition amalgamated into Royal Pakistan Artillery in 3(SP) at Mardan part of 3 Armoured Brigade. First Adjutant.
Posted to 8 Medium Regiment as BC and 2IC 1950-1954.
StaffCourse 1955. Posted to 22 Field as 2IC. On promotion joined 3(SP) as CO from 1957-1963. Longest tenure in history of artillery as CO.
Posted as GSO1 8 Division. Later as SO to AG Gen Atif ur Rehman.
War Course 1965.
At outbreak of war based on his plethora of experience in SP units given Herculean task of raising 44(SP).
Promoted full Colonel and posted as DDPA AGs Branch GHQ.
