How China blew up its own future

Yes, but the point here is that USA demographic trends are far better than any of its competitors, especially China. Those are very clear, and unavoidable, given the population pyramids and their predictable evolution over the next several decades as the population ages.
The population problem is undoubtedly a harsh challenge that China has to face.
But that doesn't mean Americans don't have the challenges they have to face
In the past 20 years, all of America's economic development has only benefited Wall Street's financial capitalists and Silicon Valley's AI and Internet elites..
What about the rest of the Americans? The education problem of teenagers. The problem of drug abuse.More and more homeless people. There is also the most important disintegration of traditional values and the disintegration of traditional families.
Don't forget that when the United States rose, the United States was a Puritan country.

Agreed. And that is going to be harsh indeed. What we have these days is probably China's peak.

Agreed. Of course USA has its own challenges, but its peak is probably still in the future at some point.

Having favorable long term demographic trends makes dealing with US challenges far easier that it is for China to deal with the basic demographic decline that it is facing irreversibly.

For example, just how many unmarried men move to cities each year to find jobs now vs. 10, 20, and 30 years later? The labor market, as well as society itself, will face drastic changes.

Even China's population were halfed, it's still 7 hundred million highly intelligent, disciplined and hardworking people, unlike what's going to happen to US

A bunch of idiots hoping to immigrate to China, and then they start this kind of pointless argument. Why waste your time?

LOL. Despite being entirely predictable, it is still entertaining to see that commiebot
lol, you USbot believe all Chinese are "commiebots".

China doesn't need large number of immigrants, not now and not in the near future. China is now already overcrowded. Whenever China took in large number of foreigners (Hu) to settle in the country in history, it created devastating disasters for China culminating in large rebellions such as in the end of Han, during Jin and Tang dynasties. China doesn't aspire to be an US style like "superpower", lol.

Key for China is effective and efficient productivity per person to offset the aging population.

China will still have hundreds of millions of young people to work, their heavy investment in robotics, automation, first class infrastructure, AI will help with better productivity.

If we look across the world life expectancy is higher than 100 yrs back and people are working less in total hours per week but working longer like into late 60s.

The west including the US has a growing population problem, they are mostly under the growth ratio (US has worst in its history) and with the rise of anti immigration far right immigration will likely take a hit too.

So its not all rosey.

This is where countries like Pak need fix their house now with a massive young population the world is their oyster for the future.
