Head director of Xinjiang Payzawat County (伽师县 )Water Resources Bureau reports to his superior before he dies from lung cancer.

In his last report, he informed his superior that the desert county Payzawat in southern Xinjiang had accomplished the goal give by the upper government of providing safe drinking water to all the homes of the desert villagers who are on the government poverty watch list.

High Plateau reservoir to safeguard clean drinking water for the local highlanders

Aranbaotai Reservoir is located in Xingungou, a tributary of the Taxkorgan River . It is a water diversion and injection reservoir with a total storage capacity of 4.03 million cubic meters.
After the completion of the reservoir, the local water shortage situation will be completely solved. The water supply pipeline of Aranbaotai Reservoir is designed to cover the remotest villages and settlements in the Pamir Plateau, which can provide the drinking water needs of 25,000 people and 16,500 mu of farmland irrigation.

Its ecological benefits cannot be under estimated either - by optimizing the allocation of water resources, it will effectively alleviate the difficulty between supply and demand in the fragile ecological zone of the plateau and help restore the ecological environment.
On the Pamir Plateau, this "water of life" project is accelerating the response to people's livelihood. It is expected that the reservoir will be completed and water will be stored by the end of September, three months ahead of schedule.
