Well, What IK says does not matter anymore for several reasons.
1- He is not in power, will most likely won't come out. Pakistan is a security state ruled by the military. If they can stole an entire election from him to keep him away then there should be no doubt that he will remain imprisoned.
2- Whatever word he says, only filtered amount comes out and even that can't be assured if those were the exact wordings. Why on earth would anyone should believe that word coming out is exactly his.
3- Lastly, living in 6x6 cell or whatever confinement while knowing that public voted for you and while knowing all your associates also in the jail for no crime (i mean, in comparison there's 100 fold more crimes the thugs of N and PPP have committed. ) While also knowing that you have lost the power politics because of brute force of military regime, that all puts severe psychological effect. You remain in the world of 2022, you don't know the realities of ground. Whole lot has changed. Given his age and the amount of injustices done over him, we should not take his "supposed" word literally.
Lastly, whatever has played out in Pakistan in 2021-22 was power politics. There were multiple candidates for COAS in pak army. N and PPP wanted their favorite one to become COAS as they knew they won't win fair and square game. IK perhaps wanted his own choice (btw, it was his right as a pm though). Anyways, fast forward today, now we should also check the strategy of existing regime, how well its going. Did they controlled the terror networks yet? How many terror attacks happened post regime change ? Is the strategy really working? Is is even wise to make a two front situation, is it even wise to undo the efforts done by Pakistan army from 2005 to 2021. As supposedly ISPR kept telling us that NDS / RAW axis was doing all terror attacks and ISPR in many words were telling us that afghan taliban aren't the villains. We were infact supporting / facilitating some of taliban faction/ members and also regularly were accused by the americans for double game and sheltering talibs. 2021 when taliban took over, Pakistani media celebrated. It should have been our victory. But what really happened that all of a sudden we made an enemy out of taliban and so turned 2700 km border as hostile once again. In afghanistan, you got only two options. Norther alliance (which is dead) or Taliban. So what's our end game here lol? Keep wasting precious missiles, and spending millions of dollar in border security ?? This is how beautifully the indians would keep draining us. Ultimately, taliban or no taliban, we'd need some peace at this side of border so we can focus all our energies to the primary front. Enemy wants us to drain at western border. We fell right into enemy trap. We cannot put enough resources to western border, remember Op-sindoor is only "paused". I fear our new leaders don't have a strategy on afghanistan. They do terror attack and we go hit some houses. Loss is ours as we lose soldiers and afghans only lose some recruits (and that too if we are lucky). Enemy have literally unlimited supply of recruits. No business, no jobs in afghanistan, its a heaven for recruitment of terrorists. There are so many people here who bash Imran khan but their answer to terror problem is wage war with empty pockets and waste millions of dollars of missiles on dirt houses. This will not win you war kiddos. You don't need airforce to defeat terrorism. You need a competent intelligence agency. De-politicize ISI and they should build ground intelligence in afghanistan. you will win war from inside only.
As far as afghan refugees are concerned, that bus has sailed now. They must go back now. I suppose that should be done by now.
