I do strongly support Imran khan at times it’s very hard when he goes on Afghanistan none stop . We have nothing against Afghanis as long as they stay in their own country. Who cares what’s right or wrong anymore . Afghanis have no respect for our people or our culture and just want to take over Pakistan ….

On this issue, IK was being played by Afghans. When Afghans have demonstrated an irredentist ideology, regardless of whatever government is in power, only a firm approach will bring about a better outcome for Pakistan.

Frankly, for Pakistan’s interest of getting to Central Asia by rail, spending the $35-40 billion on the Pakistani side to build the Karakoram railway, and putting up a hard fence on the Afghan border with limited crossings, is a far better way to have the Afghans behave well with Pakistan.

The real power lies with the top guy and a select few Corps Commanders. The rest are all pawns.

Once General Pervez Musharraf said in an interview to CNN (I think), that he couldn't just go around making decisions just because he was the head of the armed forces. He clarified that there more powerful people (above him) who would kill him if he made choice that went against the state.

I think, years later someone in Turkiye coined the term "Deep State" when describing powers behind the curtains that were more powerful than the military and the civilian Government.
