Iran’s objective is not to win but to inflict highest loss to the US and allies.

Iran can try to achieve the following objectives

1) prolong war for the remainder of Trump’s tenure or at least for couple of months

2) Block straight of Hormuz for months to give energy shock to the rest of the world

I think Iran's main goal, especially the current regime, is to survive, which they will, since there's no viable opposition to replace them, but it will be extremely weaK and remain under sanctions.

Iran's capacity to wage war is being degraded by the day, while the US, Israel, and GCC have not, but will increase. This view is solely on economics. The US can expand its capacity while Iran, under severe economic distress, cannot. It cannot replace weapons faster than they are being destroyed.

As for trying to bottle up the Straight of Hormuz, Iran needs a navy for that, and that, too, is being degraded.

Ok, so this is the Iranian version of the " Dead man's Handle" .
This is baked in into all Nuclear state's doctrine.
For UK its the BBC Radio 4.
The UK nuclear sea patrols will activate the launch sequence if the BBC radio 4 stops transmitting, as that will be an indication of a decapitation strike from an enemy.

About Iran, its a brilliant tactics. But i been observing the situation for a while now.
A large scale strike was expected by IRGC at least by mid February . Because on 19th of February they were moving their home grown " Secure" communication trucks to different parts of the country .

On 19th Feb Reddit was Abuzz with images and discussions about Sepehr-110 vehicles spotted moving on Iranian highways.

They have this since 2019 , and presumed to be deployed across the country . At least as per netizens news from mid February.

So i am assuming the communication is there, but nobody in Iranian leadership wants to stop whats happening at the moment.

The doctrine being discussed is called Defa-e-Mozaik or Mosaic Defense Doctrine. It was developed by IRGC Commander Muhammad Ali Jafri between 2005-2007 after witnessing and studying the downfall of Iraq in 2003 at the hands of US. Since the US and Israel have historically remained hostile towards Iran, the Iranians were readying themselves for the future. It was analyzed and observed that the US is always focused on removing the political head of a country which is when the office is empty and there is nobody to issue orders and resume the operations. The military strategist Muhammad Ali Jafri did not want Iran to experience the same fate.

I will explain why it is called a mosaic. A mosaic is a piece of art composed of hundreds or thousands of pieces that makes up a bigger picture. Consider these pieces as units. If you remove a unit, it does not destroy the picture as a whole. So the father of this strategy wanted entire Iran to operate like a mosaic. There are 31 units/ provinces in Iran and they all should be armed to the teeth and made independent through weapons, budgets and intelligence so that when the time comes, each unit would be able to put up a fight of its own instead of waiting for the center.

This doctrine was scheduled to initiate on autopilot once the Supreme Leader has been attacked and removed.

Now, Uncle Sam and Israel worked on their usual strategy of attacking the capital (Tehran) and removing the head. They had estimated 48 hours for this entire operation. Means, they wanted it to be short and decisive. However, the American and Israeli military strategists failed to understand the Mosaic Defense Doctrine. They thought the game was over and they would now install their own puppet government. That is when the Defa-e-Mozaik doctrine was implemented and commander of each of the units started attacking the aggressors.

This attack would continue to happen till a new Supreme Leader is elected and he orders them to stop the attacks.

It is noteworthy to mention, the objective behind these attacks is to inflict heavy damage through conventional weapons and sustain these blows over a longer period of time so that an enemy is exhausted.

However, there could come a stage when Israel would start considering deploying nuclear weapons and issue ultimatums to the Supreme Leader. That is when these attacks could cease.

I don't think Iran can prolong the war that long. How long can they continue if energy systems are degraded?
