More of a problem in the USA, than the UK or Europe where there are much stricter environmental and food standards.

In the USA, anyone can do anything unless you can "prove" it is harmful. In the UK, and Europe you have to prove it is not harmful first and then you are allowed to do something like sell food, or medicines, etc. Different approach and very different outcomes.

You guys are lucky in that regard. Almost all the fruits here are so artificially sweet that I think in a couple of years we might just start getting diabetes from eating fruits. It's that bad over here.

Food quality is one of the things I really dislike about the USA when I visit family.

The USA is a very money-driven society. Everything is expensive. Here in the UK we also have Savers essential goods (subsidised) in every big store.
Whereas everything in the US is for the privileged. Be it education, medical facilities, loans, food, shelter (no council houses), etc.

Such a society is always on the edge and becomes selfish. Seriously, a definition of survival of the fittest.

Such a system has positive aspects, but it is hard to factor in, as the US has a monopoly on resources (through war, petro $, etc).

Driscolls is worldwide the berries in question likely are from farms in Mexico.
