‘I want to cry’: Afghan medical students in Pakistan face expulsion fear

What will expelling law abiding middle class Afghan students achieve ?? This is such a cowardly and below the belt move.

The army is sitting on the border ask them how come terrorists and smuggled goods are flowing daily ?

If I am not wrong Iran reached same conclusion this year and is carrying out mass deportations.
yes, since many of them were collaborating with Israel, but many Iranians do that too. the bigger problem is when they come illegally and refuse to register. then it becomes a security issue for every country.

Taliban still has many family members, property and businesses in Quetta and other cities of Pakistan. Go after them if you are really serious about anti terrorism.

Maybe a solution would be to send them back after completion of their studies.

Let the female doctors remain if they wish/ask to become full Pakistani citizens(and they revoke their Afghan citizenship).

Send the blokes back - judging by the video's, it seems to be men making the idiotic statements.

Slightly sexist approach that probably won't stand up in court, etc. If not, then send them back after their studies and not accept new students of course.

Imagine going to the USA, UK, or Australia on a student visa, and before you can finish your degree, the government decides to deport you over some weak or unfair excuse. How would that feel?

I personally think that in Pakistan, we often let ethnic divisions shape how we treat one another. We assume we’re better than others, and we struggle to show compassion yet we expect compassion when we are the ones in need.

Some of you may not agree with me but I believe that educated Afghans should be given long‑term visas so they can integrate into Pakistani society and culture instead of being isolated. Supporting their integration would benefit both them and us.

If it was up to me, I would have given these Afghan students temporary visas so they could complete their degrees. Charge them international student fees if necessary, but at least allow them to finish their education.

This actuallys happens around the world quite a lot. VISA's can be revoked for any reason, including national security concerns.

Would it not be better for them to go back to Afghanistan to progressively rebuild Afghan society ? What they need is more educated people, not less and the Taliban won't be in power for ever either.

Agree - they should be allowed to complete their degrees as long as they have not openly mocked Pakistan or asked for it's destruction etc. If they have openly mocked, challenged the security or territorial integrity of Pakistan, then the exit door should be shown.

Everyone in those video's should be shown the door. Period

Terrorism was not in Pakistan before the 1980s; it is an imported phenomenon that can be defeated with the right strategy and tools. At times, it feels as though this chaos persists because certain elements within the establishment benefit from it and use it to maintain their relevance. They avoid confronting powerful IPP contractors, corrupt political mafias, and elite networks. Instead, they remain occupied with political engineering, experiments, and actions that further destabilize the country, all while neglecting the structural reforms Pakistan urgently needs.

How much has that worked until now lol

Do you know why this keeps happening?
Because we’ve developed a habit of looking down on our own people.

I’ve seen it myself in Washington, D.C. at the Pakistani embassy, two Pashtuns speaking Pashto can be judged or frowned upon, while a group speaking Punjabi is treated as completely normal. I’ve witnessed moments like this more times than I can count. And it’s not new. In 1971, after the fall of Dhaka, Bengali speaking Pakistanis working at the embassy in D.C. were kicked out. This is not a story, I heard for xyz person. I was in Arlington and spoke to this person.

These patterns of internal prejudice have been with us for decades, and they still shape how we treat one another today.

Until and unless, we become united, we will continue to have these issues.

Kick ALL afghans out of Pakistan. They are ALL a security threat to Pakistan. Dirty afghan scumbags, GO HOME!.

Yes but that's not the question here.

It's about the one way street of Pakistan showing infinite goodwill and the afghans doing what in return

Unless you believe it's a one way street

Do you?
