- If you go to China, you'll never ever see the world the same way again.

- China modernity now is well in advance of anything in the West

- Chinese government is hugely more advanced than what you get in America, they know how to run things.

- China is already a great power, you can't understand it thru Western prism and you should not expect to understand it in those term.

- I would argue that China is now probably the global leader more important than USA.

That is great, but where is its "leadership" in the geopolitical arena in terms of power projection?

Do we see the complete China, the good and the ugly? Or do we only see what China wants the world to see?

How is China's government more advanced than the US? If it's about getting things done, then China is the best because it's a one-party authoritarian state with top-down control. Nothing messy like democracy getting its way. If the government wants to do something, it will do it, damn what the people think. If this is advanced, China can have it.

China is a great power but not yet a superpower. They lack the will to act on their policies and only rely on limp diplomatic protests. They did nothing regarding Venezuela, Israel, and Iran.

Martin Jacques was very famous.

He wrote a book about modern China back in 2009, before anyone knew anything about China.

When everyone was still sceptical about China, when everyone thought China will collapse.

He predicted China will become a country as we know today.

So, when it comes to China, I think no one knows better than him.

To predict the future, you need to see beyond the street and the building, you need to see the thing that can't be seen with naked eyes.

And he sees and understand China.
