I'm all for free speech - but why does our state allow explicit pro-terrorist propaganda via universities/journalists/activists??

Look at individuals like Nida Kirmani (and other social media activists/journalists/"human rights" orgs) her open praise for terrorist groups, justification for the slaughter of innocents - she has access to universities and coming generations to corrupt their minds to hate themselves and their own country.

I am all for free speech, but this type of obviously harmful activity should not be tolerated. Watching on as you are destabilised due to some principle trying to prove a point is just cringe manic behaviour.

I literally saw a teacher in Islamabad calling TTP as oppressed and saying she taught this to her students. One of her argument was that TTP operations were to rob local people's homes LOL

Solution:

- Pass laws criminalising spreading propaganda in favour of outlawed terrorist groups.

- Ban international 'human rights' bodies from operating who are politically motivated.

- Strict surveillance on these wannabe Journalists/activists

Imagine a university professor teaching this in a country like Pakistan that had daily suicide blasts less than a decade ago and still does occasionally.

WHY IS THERE NO LAW AGAINST IT?

Very simple to answer. The generals only follow US/Western dictation. X, Y and Z will only be put in jail when the US requests.

Did you know that the generals are currently being taken to task at the Asma Jahangir conference 2024 sponsored by the EU and Western nations? There is not a single general who is screaming anti-state activity. You already know why.

These generals need to grow a goddamn spine and be independent for once, by standing for their own country's interests. No one else is going to do that for you.

This slave mentality must end. Look at Turkey, China, even India. You have to stand for yourself, no one else will.

Absolutely, liberal Pakistani are some of the biggest scum you will ever come across

Whether it be bla or TTP, they will be first in to support them or give them excuse for their behaviour

Our education system needs a overhaul, at the top level our universities are as liberal as the west and spread a perverse liberal ideology that propagate crap like the aurat march

I challenge the generals to oppose the Asma Jahangir conference being held in Pakistan right now. The generals are being named and shamed for their treacherous behaviour in broad daylight. Yet, not a single general will dare to speak up. Where are the champions of anti-state propaganda?

Many of us have figured out these pathetic generals real good. They are excellent in jailing innocent party workers and banning certain political leaders. That is well within their reach.

We also know now how afraid these generals are when the US and Western nations show the stick. That is the reality of these generals.

There must be a law criminalising spreading pro-terrorist propaganda. This is literally mental illness.

This is the first time, I am hearing about Nida Kirmani. Is she someone important? Does it really matter what she says ? IMO, state should not be that weak that it will crumble on people saying something. There should be difference between Pakistan & Myanmar. A free country protects the rights of its citizens no matter what.

Secondly, the screenshot of the tweet that you have showed isn't a huge deal unless she has said something else too. That tweet says ALL terror organisations are resistance groups. So she's telling that in her thinking terror groups around the world are resistance groups but BLA is also a terror group.

From a general world view perspective, Someone's Terror groups are actually someone else resistance groups. For-example, any militancy in kashmir is called by India as terror activities but Pakistan calls it a resistance movement. We believe it as a resistance movement, we do not call it terror. We say India is violating fundamental rights of people of Kashmir and Kashmiris are resisting it.

So, Instead stopping people's voices, we have to be critical of ourselves and look inwards and correct our methodologies so that rights of people are protected. Country was built for its citizens. Citizen's properties, their lives, their welfare should be the priority. Doing such things will naturally shut down all the so called "anti-state" voices. Let me assure you no security is ever breached with such petty tweets.

The underlying problem is the brutal and thuggish manner the army junta has suppressed independent voices and thought in Pakistan. Engineered fake elections, backed terror groups & stunned Pakistan’s democratic and economic growth. It’s why Bangladesh is an independent country outpacing Pakistan economically, it’s why the BLA exists, it’s why a democratically elected PM was thrown in jail, it’s why the winning political party was subverted to impose an unelected minority on the country.

As long as these injustices exist, people will go to any extreme to air their anger and frustrations….and they have every right to do so. The army junta can’t have its cake and eat it too.

The army junta isn’t threatened by the weed smoking, alcohol drinking liberal class, as they both serve the same masters. It’s the innocent woman, the children and youth and their leaders that are the enemy of state & who must be destroyed.

I've defended a lot of this juntas actions at times thinking it is at least protecting our national interests with some necessary level of authoritarianism... but if it is going to let such obvious treachery pass due to some slave complex going on then it deserves the hate it gets.

No sympathy for the propagation of such tweets. It is not only a huge disrespect to the lives lost to terrorism, but no sane country would allow it. Do you think you can support ISIS in the west?

I don't care if it's "fashiiiishm" or whatever. Normalising such sentiments has consequences. And tolerating it doesn't make you "progressive" unless you have a complex that will do anything to seek validation.

Because she's worded what she's said carefully and in an attempt to provoke thought.

As much as I dislike her we ought to play the ball, not the man. She said they are BOTH terrorists and a resistance movement. If you ask the BLA of thier motives they'll claim resistance against the Pakistani state.

She's not legitimising thier terrorism by saying that.

Instead what we should ask ourselves is what is driving individuals to the BLA, why they are claiming resistance and what is giving thier "cause" legitimacy. Our public discourse should be looking to distangle the genuine gripe of the Baloch people and the terrorist organisations.
