Back in 1995 or around that time, we visited abroad the PNS Zulfiqar (forgot what the 2nd PN ship was) when it was visiting Jakarta (on behalf of Pakistan Embassy).
What an awesome day it was. So much fun. I was a kid back then.

Glad to see PN still growing and thriving!

PAKISTAN NAVY INDUCTS 2ND LANDING CRAFT UTILITY VESSEL

Pakistan Navy inducted its second indigenously built Landing Craft Utility (LCU) vessel during a ceremony held in Karachi. Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff (Operations), Vice Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

In his address, the Chief Guest emphasized that the induction of the LCU marks a significant advancement in Pakistan Navy’s capabilities, particularly in coastal defense, amphibious operations, and rapid response. He further stated that the LCU is equipped with essential features such as endurance and maneuverability, enabling it to effectively conduct operations in demanding conditions and challenging environments.

The induction of the second LCU has further strengthened Pakistan Navy’s coastal defence arsenal, ensuring enhanced rapid response capability and sustained presence in vital operational areas.

The image shows the PNS Hunain (F-273), an offshore patrol vessel (OPV) of the Pakistan Navy, which is part of the Yarmook-class. This vessel is designed for a variety of missions including anti-air and anti-surface warfare, search and rescue, humanitarian aid, maritime surveillance, and counter-narcotics operations.

PNS Hunain was commissioned on September 6, 2024, and is the first of the Yarmook-class Batch-II OPVs. The ship is equipped with advanced electronic warfare, anti-ship, and anti-air weaponry, and self-protection systems. It is one of four Yarmook-class ships built in Romania.

The Pakistan Navy is set to host joint exercises in the Arabian Sea from February 7 to 11, 2025, to deter maritime crime and terrorism.

That's a pretty decent punch the OPV's carry. I was watching Indian navy related details and the exercises they are doing. It seems as the next war / conflict between Pakistan and India will have 3 things from India's side as their core doctrine:

Stand off use of Brahmos missiles and drones, offensive use of S-400 missiles as they can strike deep into flying PAF assets and lastly, the Indian Navy. Because India thinks these are it's strongest points and Pakistan Navy hasn't seen modernization like the PAF has seen.

I think it's time Pakistan starts to focus on more VLS systems that can be integrated onto existing platforms, and on Smash type of supersonic or hypersonic missiles to break Indian attempts of gaining any supremacy in this area with Brahmos.

replace the subsonic missiles with supersonic ones asap.....

SAMs like S400 cannot be as effective as BVR air to air missiles. As missiles launched at higher altitude, you have more chances of success because of thin atmosphere, the missile can travel faster without losing energy, plus its guidance is via onboard AESA radar / fighter jet onboard AESA or of an AWACS. It carries base energy of the aircraft too. S400 will be looking to save its own a-s, just like last time we hit one of its assets using CM401. Each S400 battery is very expensive, each missile is very expensive. We have so many strike options in response to Brahmos.

For the navy you are correct, they have much larger fleet. But if even 2 of the Hangars are inducted by then, it will give a huge boost to our capabilities.

I agree with you on many points. However, some issues remain. They aren't buying S-400 to make it a save your rear system. Below image shows you what happened in the war. 2 S-400 were out, they were without an air cover and ceasefire took place. This time, they want a ring based 3 tier architecture.

They are acquiring nearly 5+ S-400 batteries on urgent basis. I've even learned they want a total of 20, to start from Mumbai, go all around Pakistani border until Myanmar in three layers. So you'll have 1 or 2 more S-400's behind the one's by the border in below image. These will naturally be outside of the reach of Pakistan's standoff munitions, yet, protecting the Indian airspace and turn on only when the war starts, otherwise passive. So S-400 becomes their main offensive system to reduce our operations in Punjab and Sindh within 200-300 KM of the border. That is their strategy, now add Brahmos and drones to the mix and that's their future war. Same will be done on naval front.
