IMF: Japan to fall to 6th in 2027 global GDP rankings

Lol, do you know what you can buy with $8.5 in China and compare that what you can buy in Japan, US and Turkey with the same money ?

Problem is huge population

10,8% of Turkiye : almost 8,5 million People

21,5% of China : over 303 million People

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

In Türkiye, the annual social assistance budget for 2027 has been increased to 1 trillion 341 billion Turkish liras ( $27 billion )

This budget covers approximately 4 million households (around 15 million people) across Turkiye

In Japan, approximately 1.6% of the population (about 2 million people) makes use of this system

The Japanese people will be reduced to irrelevant numbers in the coming years. Japan is in massive decline anyway.

You have to take into account of living costs in each country, and also the home ownerships a big factor too. So Chinese are not as that poor as you think and may actually fare better for many in the bracket in reality.

China has an overall home ownership rate of about 90%to 96%, , making it one of the highest in the world. [1, 2, 3]. Approximately 55.8% to 56.9% of households in Turkey own their homes. Japan's homeownership rate is approximately 55%. The official U.S. homeownership rate is 65.0%

Still , Japan has higher standard of living to compare with China and India

Germany : 959
USA : 938
Japan : 925
France: 920
Turkiye : 853
Russia : 832
China : 797
Brazil : 786
Indonesia : 728
India : 685

also , Poverty headcount ratio ( $8,30 a day )

India : 82.1%
Indonesia : 68.3%
Brazil : 23,4%
China : 21,5%
Turkiye : 10,8%
Japan : 3,2%
USA : 2%
The UK : 1%
Russia : 0,9%
Germany : 0.5%

Japan began its period of rapid economic growth in the 1950s, with help from the US. It would be surprising if Japan hadn't developed well.

Meanwhile, China faced repeated restrictions and containment by the US and other Western countries. Even Japan joined in.

--------------------

However, Japan's current situation may be quite different from what many people imagine.

The following information all comes from Japanese sources.

Urban Population Percentage

The 451 million people living in villages in China are nearly equal to the total population of the entire European Union.
