Incredibly insensitive and self-righteous behavior of overseas Pakistanis

He has ripped all illusions away, the shadow powers couldn't break a 71 year old man in prison aur usne akele puri duniya ko unki aukaat dikha di hai.
only thing he ripped apart was youthiya supporters already rotten zombie brain, nothing else
I can name you a dozen journalists, mainstream politicians, ethno politicians, bureaucrats who were calling them out on it for decades

PMLN supporters learned it in 2017 and became disillusioned, TLP supporters became disillusioned when he was doing Same page BS and torturing them, harassing their families, arresting the whole leadership, dehumanizing TLP supporters, giving Bajwa extension and supporting Faiz in resettlement of TTP fighters back into Pakistan as rebranded aman lashkars

now PTI guys are disillusioned when their boy was finally given the shaft and are discovering something the whole country was calling them out on when they were busy lifting army balls and playing same page, same page with them

The Pakistani diaspora, especially those in the UK, Canada and the US, should lobby their governments to impose travel sanctions on members of the Pakistani army junta and those in the judiciary that are rubber stamping the relentless assault on civil liberties in Pakistan.

They should organize and hurt the corrupt and criminal army junta where it really hurts.

All govt idaras, majority dont work in govt idaras. That aside, what we OSPs earn in a month, most Pakistanis will not earn in their lifetime..... just food for thought. Googling according to world bank, the gross national income (GNI) per capita in Pakistan is $1470. I think most of us earn more than that in a month, and that is what average is for a year.

Then add in fact, majority are likely below the average value.....

when I visit Pakistan I make sure I over pay taxis drivers, labourers, manual class
Workers, more deserving in my opinion.

In my experience, I hate corruption usually involves a syndicate, not just one person. Therefore, they really do want to make the process as confusing as possible so you end up paying more people than you really have to. I’m talking about civil servants etc police , health lol . Just name your price and be done with it!!

The diaspora are perfectly within their rights to try to achieve that, but unlikely, simply for the reason that USA will work with the only effective entity remaining within Pakistan, and that is the military. I expect that the next elections will be rubber stamped, as usual, and business will continue as in the past. Sad, but true.

I hope everyone unites for civilian rule - maybe this election might be unfair but not the next
idk, theres not a lot of options

Not likely. The military perfected the art of creating two major and two minor factions in politics decades ago, and the overzealous followers of each camp simply want their turn at the trough. Divide-and-Rule 101. Again, sad but true.

It’s a futile argument that remittance from overseas Pakistanis does not benefit the state and its economy. It is clear as daylight that there are multiple benefits. If some of you are still persistent I suggest you take a course on basic economics.

As for overseas Pakistanis talking to US Congressmen, incidentally its the same Congressmen the local Pakistanis (at the helm) talk to for foreign aid. So why the double standard? Because overseas Pakistanis are blood civilians?

The message by overseas Pakistani to the congress men is loud and clear. To stop supporting a regime thats inflicting gross human rights violations, subverting all institutions to jail political activists, welcoming the convicts, indulging in political reengineering, and not allowing free and fair elections.

So yes, the overseas Pakistanis are well within their rights to contact the US Congress men.

Pakistan cannot operate the way it has been operating. It has become irrelevant and will continue to go down that spiral if nothing changes.

Folks - I may be stating the obvious with the content below but this entire problem has really reared it's head this time around.

Understandably many overseas 'Pakistanis' were upset over the situation in Pakistan but the methods that they have adopted in an effort to 'correct' the damage done to their champion is resulting in a direct hit against the Pakistani state as a whole.

It is very clear that a good chunk of expat Pakistanis in the US are attempting to 'punish' the Pakistani state for the changes in the political landscape across the past year and a half. Now we are reaching the peak of it - these guys genuinely want Pakistan to suffer with sanctions. The intent was hinted over the pass while but now it is clear that they intend to follow through with it.

Case and point: Intercept article where it makes it clear that sanctions are now on the table against Pakistan due to political turmoil. Given how certain the names of certain signees to the letter - it really isn't a far fetch to think that there were requests from Pakistanis residing in the US to have this motion cast:

In summary this is how the cycle goes:

-A certain administration in a certain white house interferes in country P's foreign affairs.
-Country P follows course - introduces a change in government since that's how the game is played.
-Concerned citizens of country P living overseas get a hissy fit and start complaining to the mentioned white house to punish country P for introducing this change.
-Now these concerned citizens ramped it up a notch and are asking for sanctions.

Who loses at the end of this crazy cycle? The damage will be on the Pakistani public residing in Pakistan. It will weaken the state even further if measures like this go ahead.

So the question is why are overseas Pakistanis so insensitive to the harm that they advocating for? Can't they see the big picture?

Bro, you are a very funny guy. You should focus on rapping and becoming a big gangster. PDF isn't your cup of tea.

1. You can't stop billions of dollars from leaving Pakistan to countries like the UAE and Malaysia. Many corrupt Pakistanis move their capital to UAE and other destinations. That is called capital flight.

2. The rich don't pay any taxes in your country. When a leader requests the rich to pay taxes it is a non-discussion.

3. Pakistan is a loan addict. You guys have amassed loans worth billions over the years. These loans have to be repaid. Now you are unable to invest money in education and other important areas that can actually help growth in Pakistan. Instead you are stuck in a vicious loan repayment cycle.

4. Pakistan imports like a crazy heroine addict. There is no semblance between import and export. You don't have a notion how to run your economy. You are like an arsonist who sets his house on fire, but blames others.

Are the expats responsible for this economic mess? I don't know where you guys find the audacity to lament expats. You guys haven't got your own house in order. You expect the expats to come to the rescue? It doesn't work like that.

I have never understood those that would look to damage the state and people for their own political agenda. I’m sorry, but there are some lines you shouldn’t cross.
But hasn't this land, had many of them? Whether it be during Islamic rule or before?

Whoever lives here, carries those genes and traits. The subcontinent is blessed with resources, calamities and traitors along with heroes for every side.

Loss of relevance or power of such individuals, perhaps negates the use of the state if seen at a more psychological level. Democracy is democracy till their point of view is accepted.

Overseas Pakistanis are as patriotic as their local counterparts.

Pakistanis should be wary about characters that glaringly subvert justice, undermine institutions, invite back known corrupts and absconders.

Then why are overseas Pakistanis doubling down on the situation by encouraging the current White House administration to go ahead with sanctions. Why are they going up to the mafia boss and telling him that we want your gangsters to do more harm against us?

Whatever they do it won't cause a dent at all to the elite INSIDE Pakistan.

It will harm the downtrodden and poor of Pakistan. Those are the ones who always end up paying the tough price. The westernized city-dwelling elite don't have to sacrifice anything.
My stomach is aching because I laughed for half an hour

Dude overseas Pakistanis have no say in white house

Biden loves asim munir sahab and nawaz sharif so don't worry

PS

This site looks nicely formated and fonts look great

Good job creators

If I was a cynic, I might say, out of the corner of my mouth, that is because it is too embarrassing for them to come to India for treatment.
P.S. I am not a cynic, but am rapidly turning that under the hammer blows that I have been receiving from a medical practitioner known to everybody on this forum.
Whatever treatment is available in London is available in Pakistan for the elite

The only reason they travel is for night clubs and shopping

All sort of advance care is available in Islamabad and karachi, the only exception is some solid organ transplant like heart and lung transplant (lidney/liver is available)

Those rich ass elites aren't suitable for heart transplant anyway

Both figuratively and practically

Dude overseas Pakistanis have no say in white house

They don't have any +ve say in the white house. That's the entire point I'm making!!!!

My point is that these overseas Pakistanis thought they can reverse the political landscape into their favor by starting a conversation with the Biden administration.

But the Biden admin instead started using the S-word again (sanctions). Will they give they overseas Pakistanis what they want? No lol. Will they (the White house) decide for themselves what Pakistanis want? That's what it ended up looking like.
