In fairness, in reality, India has stood up to the west on certain issues, it's picked and choosed
But it's Russia stance was solid, it's insistence on its independence is solid
India has for example not purchased Iranian oil, it placated the USA there
It has stated no position on Gaza barbarism and the settler colonialism, which for a formerly colonised global South self purported leader leaves a white elephant in the room
BRICS was held in Kazan, a city with islamic heritage, that's not an accident, it's a signal.
a point of divergence then is if china and Russia support Iran unambiguously, India is in an awkward position in this sort of forum, in fact it is outnumbered, founding member or not
I agree, however Joe thinks or feels the hindutva tilt of the current Indian state is a change to the Indian norm of the last 75 years, I disagree I feel it's a fulfillment of the India Jinnah foresaw.
They can't put the hindutva genie back into the bottle
Look at the Gaza conflict, even across the west apart from the absolute Zionist apologists the pressure to support Gaza is intense and has grown, yet you see the indians slavishly supporting the worst of attrocities
Now if you are a Muslim or South Asian or hell even from the global south would you trust these indians or people, HELL NO
At some point you realize the threat and I repeat it's up to China and other states to keep India under check
