Well it sure has taken sting out of Trump tariff, somewhat. We just don't have the scale, efficiency and "desire" to truly benefit from it. There are some who wish for Rs to slide all the way to 100 Rs per dollar. This can only benefit us if go through massive regulatory reforms, land and power price reduction, labor reform and improved judiciary.

Again use some brain cells. So called FTA deal is coming after EU ended India GSP status as of 1 January 2026.
Now India will have to make give and take FTA deal unlike in GSP era. Its good for EU, for India not so much.

In ten years you may actually be nearly debt free and have some real forex and trade deals with Europe too .
Modi has taken India from 12th position to no 5 in global economic power as taken Forex to 700 billion dollars

Now EU have imposed tariff on 87% of Indian exports after terminating GSP status. Make no mistake this FTA deal will only benefit EU. India will not get GSP tariff again after being upgraded. Now you compete with China and not Bangaldesh for exports to EU. Good luck

GSP gives tariff preferences on a narrow set of goods. A modern FTA goes far beyond where India gains.
It also allows a more mature Indian industry to access European inputs at competitive prices, what you would want when you’re scaling up manufacturing and moving up the value chain and integrating into global supply chains.
If Pakistan couldn’t meaningfully expand exports even with 19% tariff preferences, that tells that the real constraint lies in competitiveness and not tariffs. India has long moved past that stage. We’re not a low capability, preference dependent exporter anymore, so there’s little reason to fear the loss of GSP. The real game now is productivity and scale.

IT sector was oriented and developed largely towards services to global companies till recent past. They are now being pivoted towards AI application based solutions. College Curriculums and researches are also being pivoted accordingly. Many large IT companies have already started services and products based on AI, however the same will continue to be more competitive with each launches of the Indian models.
There are 50 odd smaller models of about 10 to 100 billion parameters (compared with deep seek's 600+ billion parameters model) either developed or under development. Key Indian AI models and platforms include:
BharatGen, e-vikrAI, Sarvam-1, Krutrim (Ola), Hanooman / Everest 1.0 (SML), Chitralekha (AI4Bhārat), Airavata, Surya OCR, CoRover.ai / BharatGPT etc.
Combined effect of all these models will be that they will handle 90 to 95% of the tasks that the current global LLMs can handle.
Isn't that apparent with India's current chip making capability?
