India Economy Thread

Tbf we need to crack the Li NMC supply chain and production. We did a good job with the software and design side to increase range. Battery is still Chinese and BMS some European supplier for tata and Chinese for Mahindra
Li-NMC supply chain has too many weak links. LFP has only one , Li.
We should concentrate only on LFP for vehicles, then NaFP for storage.

The systematic and organized abuse of the H-1B program is also a national security threat. Domestic law enforcement agencies have investigated H-1B-reliant outsourcing firms for engaging in visa fraud, conspiracy to launder money, and other illicit activities to encourage foreign workers to come to the United States. Abuses of the H-1B program also present a national security threat by discouraging Americans from pursuing careers in science and technology, risking vital United States leadership in these fields.
What H1B got to do with economy in India?

Why is the West adding to the employee strength in India?

India has added 111 greenfield global capability centres (GCCs) so far in 2026, crossing the 100-centre mark in just eight months, according to a report by UnearthIQ. The pace marks a sharp acceleration from 2025, when India took the full year to reach 100 greenfield GCCs.

The report defines greenfield GCCs as new centres established from the ground up in India to build fresh capabilities, teams and operations, including new market entry, hiring, operating-model creation and office set-up.

The latest tally also represents a significant increase from the 73 greenfield GCCs recorded through June, with 38 new centres added since the first half of the year. Hyderabad has emerged as the largest destination, accounting for 40 of the 111 centres, followed by Bengaluru with 30 and Pune with 18. Chennai has added eight centres, while Mumbai has seven and Delhi-NCR four.

The expansion is expected to create 70,000-75,000 jobs, while the new centres are estimated to generate an annualised revenue and foreign-exchange impact of $2.5-2.8 billion, the report said.

The technology and engineering-heavy Hi-Tech segment leads with 28 new centres, accounting for a quarter of the total. Manufacturing follows with 20 centres, while professional services has 12, and BFSI and healthcare and pharma have 10 each.

Companies that want faster AI adoption are increasingly doing it through their own GCCs, using them to interact with and consolidate a fragmented global vendor ecosystem and to bring scattered AI initiatives under one roof.

US companies continue to dominate new GCC creation, accounting for 65, or 59%, of the 111 centres established so far. The UK follows with 11 centres, while Germany, Japan and Israel have also contributed to the expansion.

The report’s list includes companies such as DePuy Synthes, Truveta, Acumatica, Rockwell Automation, Syneos Health, Generac, Nestle and Edwards Lifesciences. The list is illustrative and excludes nano GCCs.
