India Economy Thread

Bottom line, Hindu India has done pretty well when it comes to manufacturing, education, infrastructure, IT services, automobile, medical field, space, trade, and social progress. If Pakistan could have done a similar level of development, it would have an economy of around 1 trillion dollars or more by now. For India, they can definitely celebrate, unfortunately, the poor in India have not helped, the bottom of the pyramid are pushed down the barrel, and minorities are crushed.

A good Islamic lecture on preferring trade.

Damn bro, you know it! Totally crushed! I wonder who is doing all the purchases in India!

You read a brain scan if you honestly read that. What a waste.

India start bragging about surpassing Japan with IMF "projected" GDP of 2025-26. In reality its still behind Japan. Wait few more years retards.

What is a "global" stat? 31000 USD in China is same as 31000 USD in Kenya or 31000 USD in Germany? Ty for your input!
I think it was how much 1% of the global population earns, if one can earn 31k $, he is having a good life anywhere.
You may be right, as I confused that with the top 1% earner, which would be only a few hundred people.
Anyway, Jordon Peterson stated that number.

Who is this "India"? This India envy is unbecoming. These projections may materialize by end of 25 but they are happening. Likely no. 3 by 2027. Indian growth has picked up this year. Wait "few" years is surely apt for another country, no?

Fun facts :
- India's per-capita GDP is one fourth that of Mexico, and one twentieth that of UK,
- India has the world's largest population of
(a) Lepers
(b) Blind children and blind
(c) Illiterates ( 35% of the world's population)
(d) Unemployed youth
( 78% unemployed in the age group of 18-30
(e) Beggars and street dwellers
(f). Underage sex workers
(g) Overseas indentured slave labor
( 9 million in the GCC countries)

Dang, that's bad, I tell ya!

Not so fast andhbakht. First beat Japan then dream about number 3.

India actual GDP FY 2024-25 $3.9 trillion.

60% of population need free ration/foodgrains from government to survive.

In the "west", yes. Except, in India, that money will go quite far. That's nearly 100K USD as for as PPP is concerned.
Fun Fact :
Per-Capita GDP of India: 2,480.79 USD (2023)
Per-Capita GDP of Russia : 13,817.05 USD (2023)
Per-Capita GDP of China : 12,614.06 USD (2023)
Per-Capita GDP of Mexico: 13,790.02 USD (2023)

For your education:
Prosperity of a country is determined by the GDP divided by the population. Its like a man with 7 children and two dependent parents earning 40,000 INR a month vs a single child couple earning 38,000 INR. a month. India has ten times the number of mouths to feed which is why there are beggars (and stray cows) on the streets of your cities. Russia has no stray cows pooping on its streets.

How does it feel to be a citizen of a country with a hunger index of 107, and the world's largest population of blind, lepers, illiterates, unemployed, undernourished, beggars & street dwellers?
That is why India cannot militarily defeat, disarm, and occupy a "bankrupt " country 1/7th its size.

@Pakistan Space Agency

PSA sb,

But whether India can become number 2 is the real question.

Seems unlikely in 21st century at least.

Regards

Whether India can become rich should be the real question. Ranking should be less important then ending basic poverty, let alone extreme poverty.

In my view, India has had the support of the collective West and the pre/post Soviet camp for decades, so it's done ok, but can do a lot better.
