India Foreign Policy Thread

Quietly, the Indians know deep down that their Russian fighter planes are useless in their hands, i.e. MiG-29s and Su-30MKIs. They need a French/US based solution hence why so much focus on the Rafale and possibly F-35.
But they are curious about the technology transfer with Russia

Military defence deal - never done over the night of someone visiting.

And also can say that some military defence deal singed but they not meant to go public

If India wants russian military equipment it's available...Russia would jump at the chance to sell
More s400
Su57
Etc

But India is thinking deliver the outstanding 2 squadrons of S400 first then we talk about more purchases
Russia is late on delivery

I did already confirm India is buying Rafale both F4 and F5

Much to the annoyance of pdf members

India will buy more S400 but they want delivery of the outstanding s400 first
Sensible by India

A deal would have been signed today in full view of the entire media circus of the universe.

Hindustan has been forced to reject Uncle Putin's numerous offers, be they black market oil on a permanent tap, be they S500s. We all know who has told Modi he cannot accept their offers.

Already, prior to today, Russian shadow fleet deliveries were being refused by Ambani refineries, again in acquiescence to NATO memos.

One word for you and Indian friends that you all seem to lose sleep over - CONCESSIONS.

PDF members lectured you weeks and months ago that a choice would need to be made. We have seen the fruits of Modi's diplomatic tight rope walking today.

No SU-57
No S-400
No S-500

Only some useless MOUs signed

As expected it was a Total failure for India.

Here are the key agreements signed during the summit

Several agreements were signed across various sectors, further cementing the bilateral ties between India and Russia. Key highlights include:
  • Energy cooperation: Russia reaffirmed its commitment to providing uninterrupted fuel shipments to support India's growing economy.
  • Industrial partnerships: Indian firms inked a deal with Russia’s URALCHEM to set up a urea manufacturing plant in Russia.
  • Food safety: India’s FSSAI and Russia’s consumer protection agency formalized agreements to strengthen food safety regulations.
  • Healthcare cooperation: Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed to enhance collaboration in medical research and healthcare.
  • Maritime logistics: An MoU was signed to bolster India-Russia collaboration in port and shipping operations.
  • Migration and mobility: Both countries signed agreements to streamline migration and facilitate the movement of people between India and Russia.
So that's that...

Then you should not complain if you know you are antagonizing. Subsequently Europe will be upset
Will they cry or just pout?

For the record, we will continue to sell our viewers Russian oil and gas and send our tech guys over to Europe.

To top it up, a free trade agreement will be signed with most European countries.

They can watch all they want.

Haha says the guy who is salty about Putin visit. I understand the burn. It must be tough.
Salty...

You're joking/kidding, right?

The man is pretty much a War Criminal in the eyes of the World. He doesn't have much to offer.

How's the Su-57 deal coming along?

Sp as usual, lots of Indian hype and no deals? What happened to Shiv Aroors "S-400 done deal" post?

"Plenty of pomp, but few concrete announcements"

They will sign the defence deals later, and also have a habit of doing them on the sidelines.

Not so sure, my guess is Modi may be afraid of anything too significant in order not to piss of US even further...
