India Gets 30-Day Waiver From US To Buy Russian Oil Amid Iran War

The "cope" most probably lies in paying more for something today compared with yesterday simply because of what some orange guy says.
Orange guy said a lot of things. No Russian oil, zero tariffs for US goods. Unlike you we didn't obey a single thing. India was under highest tariffs for the most part of 2025. Who Exactly obeyed Trump? The irony of you guys even commenting is hilarious, you're in deep pleasing Trump obeying Trump but sure it was India. Hence the cope and deflection.

So US asked you to reduce and you did.

There, thanks, that was not so hard was it, shame your fellow Indians find it so difficult to admit, but then again, truth and India have always made strange bedfellows....
US asked for zero Russian oil.

Cope with that.

US asked for zero Russian oil.

Cope with that.

Whatever. FACT is you reduced oil imports when asked. Post as many articles as you like. As with a Rafale tail. You cannot explain away facts.

@Yasser76

FACT is you reduced oil imports when asked.

We didn't. Our Russian oil import increased 6% in February AFTER the deal. Someone posted the link.

Regards

Funny, Indian government itself said they stopped buying Russian oil. Do you want tio go and get your facst right then come back on here and post.
So, the goalpost changed from the above to the below. Awesome. I am still waiting for a source that proves the claim you made about the "Indian government itself said they stopped buying Russian oil."

AppIndia Gets 30-Day Waiver From US To Buy Russian Oil Amid Iran War

India's access to crucial energy supplies received a temporary boost on Friday after US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced a 30-day waiver allowing Indian refiners to purchase Russian oil.

The Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control issued a Russia-related licence "Authorizing the Delivery and Sale of Crude Oil and Petroleum Products of Russian Federation Origin Loaded on Vessels as of March 5, 2026 to India," the Treasury said in a statement.

Someone see the irony in current world order ? USA (an independent country) is allowing India (another independent country) to buy oil from Russia (which is again another independent country) .

But saar, we are independent.

Spin this how you want. US asked, India obeyed.

Are you really oblivious to the fact that India is one of the only two countries still buying seaborne Russian oil ? If India is "coping ", most other countries including Pakistan are doing even more so because they never bought even a drop of cheaper Russian oil.
Every geoeconomic transaction executed by middle tier nations comes at a geopolitical cost and/or creates some geopolitical opportunity. We know this as well as you do. So far, we are satisfied with our choices, as should you be with yours.
