India Has Lost Air Superiority to Pakistan, No Jets Left to Fight

I so wish I am not on holiday or travelling for work when the first J-35 lands, just to see reaction of Indians on here and their press.

I can already imagine

"F-35 Chinese Copy saaaar!"
"SU-30 can detect it as ACM Sing said so saaaar"
"PAF have no money for fuel to fly saaaaaar!"
"India waiting for HAL VAMCA (Very Advanced Medium Aircraft) 7th Gen saaaar"

The collective meltdown will be as bad as May 7th....

The Indians are very very worried about the J-35AE as they know they have no real answer for it. The Su-57E is a bit of a joke, and F-35 is off limits. The European options are a decade away as of now.

The KF-21 maybe their answer in the end, don't be surprised if we hear talk of that platform at some point.

Yeaah, but even the Koreans themselves concede KF-21 is not full 5th Gen.

It's ok, they could go for KAAN. Oh....oh wait.... Hahahahahaha

I think India's only real capable fighters are SU-57 but there are real worries about Russia being able to deliver soon in enough quantities. Thus India going for the large, expensive Rafale order: Something better than nothing. And India has deep pockets.

Yes, think they will go for Rafale. Of course a good plane, but irrespective of the 5th Gen v 4th Gen issue there, there is the massive psychological advantge PAF have over IAF Rafale pilots now

Not really reassuring when you fly into an enemy that has shot done 4 (and damaged another 4) of the plane you are in and your team could not even get a punch back. They will also (I assume) be fielding the Meteor again....

Chalo... good while the thread lasted. Now we only have Pakistani members laying out "India's" view and what India's options are vs. not etc etc. - when you do this as a purely academic exercise its fine - in real life most of the statements being made here carry no weight (not that they are not "sound" arguments but they are "incomplete" as they lack how Indian's think about the situation)

Oh cool, you just now suddenly realised the definition of a chat forum.....

And I suppose when you indians do the same about Pakistan you have some sort of providence? 😂

The j35 is purchasing into the broader Chinese military ecosystem, networks, links and evolving military concepts plus tech, emphasis evolving

Actually so did the j10c, and that's an old jet and that is literally what Pakistan benefitted from, the data links and avioinics and missiles

What feels like a lost battle for India is they have no option to match this going forward, even the f35 they will get an export version and upgrades won't be straightforward, consequently it could be perpetual catch up just on fighter jets, even if they have some indigenous leap they can't necessarily incorporate this to either j35 or Rafael

Probably should have persisted with su 57, but what Russian tech won't be compromised by China, risky.

All this aside , paf adds value, and working with turkey who are leading some innovations

Nothing can be taken for granted, India has a much larger geography so missiles are a real threat and these days dominate wars, it's not clear who has an edge with drones, not sure either country should have an Iran style war approach, feels like a road to ruin , gentlemans agreement perhaps 😇

In many ways their under estimation works in our favor..

They under estimate PAF and therefore under prepare…

2019 & 2025 on both occasions IAF was completely ineffective against PAF … no lessons learned = doing the same and expecting a different outcome.

In 2019 their excuse was they had no raffle draw jets… and awarded medals for fake F16 encounters…it was so absurd that abilondon wasn’t even involved in operation tandoor while PAF used its Su30 and Mig21 killers in 2025 operation.

In 2025 their excuse was everything from social media to Chinese satellites..

But the basic truth was PAF was far more talented, has better leadership, skilled in air and situational awareness combat and gutsy than IAF.

This is the part Indians cannot digest…and it is hilarious to watch them defend the indefensible…

Given that they've invested so much into the Rafale, i don't think they will now opt for another new platform. Best they can get is Su-57 but Russia has its own needs right now. And no source code for Rafale
The J35 arrival will ensure they can't compete for a long while once PAF employs that.

Rafale deal will take $40 billion from Indian procurement budget, even for India that is massive
