It's not off topic. It's about Indias capacity to absorb conflicts and yet grow economically.

India Q1 GDP Data Live Updates: PM Modi says doomsayers were doomed and India bloomed; GDP grows at robust 7.8% defies US-Iran war impact

India Q1 GDP Data Live Updates: India’s GDP growth for the first quarter (April-June) of the current financial year 2026-27, beat odds and the impact of the US-Iran war to come in at a resilient 7.8%. This is the first full quarter which was likely to have seen a major impact on India’s GDP growth. However, India has retained its tag of being the fastest growing major economy in the world, despite the global headwinds.

Cuts in Goods and Services Tax rates and income tax reductions introduced last year probably continued to boost household disposable income and demand, helping offset some of the effects of higher inflation. Economists, however, believe the recent improvement in private investment is unlikely to last.

This is not over,

once the world bank and IMF does a real re adjustment then the real gdp will show. Considering currency depreciation and inflation i doubt India gdp increased this year at all.

Ask your ex-finance secretary .. if he thinks these numbers are true.

"Former Finance and Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg has triggered a major political and economic debate by publicly questioning India's official 7.8% real GDP growth estimate for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026–27"

Whatever india is reporting does not match with on ground situation in india.
He was a retard, sneaked in an idea in 2019 budget known as "Cardinal sin in economics." Issue sovereign bonds abroad in Foreign currency, blindsided the Finance Minister, and was promptly fired from his position. He was defenitely mad about it, he resigned and now gives free opinion on "economics" under the screen name"ex-fiance secretary ".

Okay, this still does not help prove that the ground situation in india has improved to match its extra ordinary performance in numbers.

Precisely why he is an expert now. Embrace his wisdom!

Ground situation? You mean literal ground?

Yes he means after all these years of growth why is indians purchasing power mean they can buy less food, meat, medicine, essentials then they did 20yrs ago? Why indjans complain that cities are dirtier, more polluted and water quality disastrous and worse than 20yrs ago? 800 million malnourished living off food subsidies can not buy bare necessities so all this growth is not showing up at the ground level.

Your wisdom is beyond pale. Share more.

30 years ago, having a scooter or motorcycle was middle class. Cars were for rich or cream of upper middle class. Now a sweeper owns a scooter or motorbike. I guess I don't live in alt reality.

We have you for that!

Check your IQ at the door by the looks of it. Guess what you got cheap smartphones too because technology advanced mainly thanks to china providing your poor people accessability to technology. But did you answer the question? no of course not your too scared or your IQ is too low. Is the streets cleaner? Is pollution better? Is food more affordable? Are people seeing massive changes and developments that the numbers try to indicate? Quit bragging about cheap chinese technology being affordable and talk about the basic groceries where 800million are still reliant on food subsidies causing low IQ and malnourishment.

Chinese companies brought cheaper technology to India through massive vertical integration, economies of scale, and aggressive supply chain dominance. [1, 2]

Key Drivers of Cheap Chinese Tech in India
    • Scale and Manufacturing Ecosystem: China built concentrated industrial hubs (like the "Shenzhen stack") capable of manufacturing electronic components, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and raw materials like copper-clad laminates at an unmatched scale and speed. [1, 2, 3]
    • Vertical Integration: Chinese conglomerates control everything from raw hardware sensors to industrial software and manufacturing lines domestically, removing middleman costs. [1]
    • Aggressive Pricing and Subsidies: Backed by deep supply chains, brands under parent firms like BBK Electronics (Oppo, Vivo, Realme, OnePlus) split product tiers to capture every budget segment while undercutting local competitors. [1]
    • Reinvestment of Profits: Rather than burning capital heavily on upfront celebrity endorsements or local PR, Chinese firms historically funneled profits back into production efficiency and refining iterations rapidly. [1]
    • Component Dependency: India's local manufacturing ecosystem remains underdeveloped for deep-tech hardware, meaning Indian assemblers still rely on importing cheap foundational components and raw materials directly from China. [1, 2]
By your logic most families in the West couldn't afford a $3000 computer in the late 70s but can own two houses and a family of 6 on one mans wage therefore now that they can afford a computer but can not feed a family of 4 on one mans wage thus now is better because they can afford a $750 computer? Do you even logic bro or is logic banned in India?
