India to supply BrahMos, Astra missiles to Indonesia, government official says, following Operation Sindoor

So that is a no then. OK, nothing to see here I guess.

Lets file this under

Argentina buying Tejas
Malaysia buying Tejas
Bahrain buying Tejas
US Navy buying Tejas
Literally says a contract was signed earlier this year and talks ongoing for more batteries lel.
Finalising an agreement, is not the same as signing a contract, it's basically an MoU still. I've yet to see a credible source stating Indonesia has actually signed a contract for the Astra MK1.
Astra contract doesn't exist. It is actually a cooperation agreement.

What great news! India is steadily emerging as a beacon of hope for ASEAN nations that aspire to determine their own future rather than be dictated by outside powers. Benevolent India will continue to strengthen & support our friends & allies with latest generation of weapons so no rogue power can bully them ever again.
This post could almost be abstract art.

Brilliant 😂

Highlight of this is development of the port. It'll be 100 miles from Indian port in A&N, a very nice transhipment opportunity. Also critical mineral like Nickel extraction.

India and Indonesia are very brotherly countries who share common strategic interests in the Indian ocean.

A very important development but something that was on the cards for a very long time.

I belive they need Astra to arm their Sukhoi fighters, as russia is too busy to supply anything right now, The price tag makes a diffrence too, I belive this deal will go through for sure, high point of the deal is Sabang Port Project and UPI, one will a strategic hold on Malaca straits and other will improve the easy of business, which most important for Indias long term growth

Indians are clowns, in their deluded minds they think this means they can control the Malacca straights

It doesn't

Only Indonesia, really can't control the Malacca straights, it's not like Hormuz, one way in, one way out

why-the-malacca-strait-so-important-while-lots-of-v0-u70rp9sjod3b1.png

As long as Indonesia is ok, their are multiple options around, even part of the reason for CPEC was a work around of any blocking attempt

It's not even that, why would any of the countries around the Malacca strait block it? Especially against China?! May as well commit suicide. It's nothing like the geography or geopolitics of the Persian Gulf. The indians have had this wet dream for decades, which is why they wanted Vietnam to buy the brahmos, because somehow they think that will allow Vietnam to magically defeat the Chinese navy in the south China sea and block the Malacca strait.

the shortest route for Middle East oil to China is through Malacca Strait

the shortest route for Middle East oil to China is through Malacca Strait

But the work around isn't that much further away,

Look at the map

The only country that can really block the strait is Indonesia, because it can block all routes

Yeah they are very close. Won't say "brotherly". How come india led by BJP's hindutva muslim hatred / RSS extremist ideology can be brotherly with a muslim nation.

Remember this president of indonesia was invited as Chief guest of india's republic day in 2025. He'd buy some missiles in return of such testicles liftings by modi.

However, indonesia also has a habit of cancelling deals. F-15EX, SU-35 are few I remember. But this missile deals is a much low level deal then a fighter jet deal. It do not weigh much strategically or economically. I think good chance this missiles deal will go through.
