Yes your right this incredible India what a country amazing

India number o e destination for western travellers

Depends on your socio-economic status. Majority of india is poor but you have atleast 300-400 million middle class population which are comparatively well off. This population is the growth driver for the nation currently.

India is very large with lots of cities, towns and villages, so yeah this is not a indicator of everyday life in India.

Civic sense is debatable and varies from region to region.

Development is not making things organized and pretty. The kind of development you are referring to would takes ages and would be very difficult to achieve for India due to its size and population. Unless you expect Indian government to demolish all houses and make new uniform houses with model streets and force everyone to live in those standardized houses - that sort of "development" would not happen.

The beauty of a country like India is, that everything works despite looking like a mess. There is order and vibrancy in that chaos. People who come from very impoverished backgrounds are still hustling to become something, the country has hope and pride - sometimes they are over proud which is wrong but still it is remarkable that they have it.

Cost of starting business and making a living is miniscule. Everybody has a QR code and are able to receive payments digitally. Yes there are a lot of ills in that society, but such ills would be present in any large country. Even in USA people broke into stores to stole everything when the power went down, although technically anyone making above 30,000USD a year comes in top 1% earners of the world! India has managed to collect 640 billion USD in forex reserves with this very society and its people.

I am not a fan of India but they are getting too much crap these days from everywhere. Critique should have a standard. Racist cum ridiculing demeanor is unacceptable.

India is basically a poor country.
Comparison with China is futile because China is not a democracy , in China rulers take decisions.
But India being gigantic democracy with immense diversity (politically and demographically) getting things done is way too difficult.
A glaring problem in our democracy is north Indians, who are unfortunately in majority and mainly decide who takes over central govt ,are not exactly up to the mark.
All this hype about India this that,is just that, hype.nothing much.

Delhi is not a typical Indian city either.

Its had one of the worst govt. for the last 10 years that let the city ROT.

Its pointless to showcase Delhi as some kind of India's pride.
